Who is really the frontrunner for AOTY this year? I literally don’t see anybody as proper lead this year. The only sure things for me at this point are Leave The Door Open for ROTY and Drivers License for SOTY. And of course Olivia Rodrigo for BNA

Could God Breathed by Kanye be eligible for Best Dance Recording? The production is closer to Dance than to Rap or Gospel

All snippets from Montero are very good. The promotion is amazing, aesthetics are beautiful and for sure he will campaign hard. If he gets good reviews and album makes good results on sales and streaming, I think he will be one of the front runners for Album of the year.

You understand the user explicitly said “the only sure things for me” right?

You do realize there isn’t a committee right? The “not that many pop albums will get in” argument is a moot point without a committee.

Country and rock/alternative blocks are big. There will be at least one from each + R&B and Rap. So I think there will be 4 pop albums at the very most in AOTY.

…you do realize that not everyone who votes likes or listens to pop right. Only the most dedicated of people vote this round and pops not really a genre with a lot of passion. Expect to see lots of rock/alternative and maybe even classical being nominated.

    There’s no committee anymore.

OH SHIT THAT’S SO DAMN TRUE. The one time Classical was nominated was one of the worst AOTY lineups in HISTORY. The exact one that lead to them making the committee. YIKES. New classical music ain’t it, but here’s my early, delusional prediction for Promises by Floating Points, London Symphony Orchestra, and Pharoah Sanders.

Is “Industry Baby” the frontrunner for Melodic Rap Performance?
