Billboard are being silly again with their awards. Taylor Swift won that award twice. Why give it a third time, for what? Evermore, which is basically an extension? Should’ve gone to Dua Lipa, Doja Cat or Megan Thee Stallion. Not to mention that 9 out of the last 10 winners were white women.

if olivia wins she would be the first woman american-asian to wins WOTY.

My night’s mission was to get my Gospel/Christian predictions down and this is what I have.

    Best Gospel Performance/Song

    • “House of the Lord” — Phil Wickham
    • “Believe For It” — CeCe Winans (feat. Lauren Diagle)
    • “Jireh” — Elevation Worship & Maverick City Music (feat. Chandler Moore & Naomi Raine)
    • “Hold On Me” — Travis Greene (feat. Kirk Franklin & John P. Kee)
    • “Something Has to Break” — Red Rock Worship & Essential Worship

    Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song

    • “RELATE” — for KING & COUNTRY
    • “Never Lost” — CeCe Winans
    • “Rise Up (Lazarus)” — CAIN
    • “Fresh Wind” — Hillsong Worship
    • “Wait On You” — Elevation Worship & Maverick City Music (feat. Dante Bowe & Chandler Moore)

    Best Gospel Album

    • Believe For It — CeCe Winans
    • Changing Your Story — Jekalynn Carr
    • GRACE — Kelly Price
    • Johnny x Mali: Live in LA (Stereo) — Johnathan McReynolds & Mali Music
    • I AM — Koryn Hawthorne

Best Contemporary Christian Christian Music Album

    • My Savior — Carrie Underwood
    • Old Church Basement — Elevation Worship & Maverick City Music
    • Hymn of Heaven — Phil Wickham
    • Circles — Dante Bowe
    • Move Your Heart — Maverick City Music & Upperoom

This officially marks 46 predicted categories for me… I’ll try to make it to 50. I kept in mind Justin Bieber in these categories for his EP Freedom but ultimately I don’t think he’ll happen.

St. Vincent is my current frontrunner for Alternative Music album. IDK if Beck or anyone else released anything. Haven’t followed Alternative much.

Apologies if this has been discussed already. I used to have an account, but deleted it and just opened a new one to ask this question. Are people underestimating Bo Burnham from being nominated in more categories outside of “Best Comedy Album”? I know Bob Newhart took home BNA and AOTY for a Comedy Album in 1961.

I think “Inside” is going to be remembered as a definitive Covid piece of art. It won several Emmys a few weeks ago and lost the main category to “Hamilton” because it’s “Hamilton”.

I don’t know eligibility for items like this, but I think Netflix could submit the following:

    • Album of the Year
    • Song of the Year, “That Funny Feeling”
    • Best Comedy Album
    • Best Music Film
    • Best Music Video, “White Woman’s Instagram”

Phoebe Bridgers has incorporated a cover of “That Funny Feeling” to her “Reunion” tour. The songs have been massively successful on TikTok and other social platforms. I could be way off, but hadn’t seen this discussed.

Highly doubt the BMV one. He could get nominated for AOTY, BNA (if eligible, HDD says he is but that doesn’t sound right), Song for Visual Media, Music Film, and Comedy Album at best, but the first three are kinda dependent on how much they really like that. The latter two are locks IMO.

The thing with Burnham is that most Grammy members are serious musicians, so you kinda have to wonder if they will really use one of their five slots to nominate a comedian. Yes, it’s happened before, but the last time a comedy album got into the GF was more than forty years ago, and the Grammys have changed a lot.

    FYC - Lil Nas X
MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) - ROTY, SOTY, Best Pop Solo Perf., Best Music Video
INDUSTRY BABY - Best Melodic Rap Perf., Best Rap Song
MONTERO - AOTY, Best Pop Vocal Album

I was expecting Bo Burnham to submit the album to Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media but I suppose Comedy Album would also work. Might actually have a better chance in the latter. I believe most comedy nominees are usually the audio from stand-up specials and since the pandemic didn’t allow most to perform, Bo found a unique way to still do so. As mentioned by someone else, his recent Emmy success gives him a good amount of visibility.

In terms of Score Soundtrack, would Soul be the frontrunner?

I do get this argument but I feel like people can be serious musicians and still vote Bo just based off of how much they enjoyed Inside.

Granted, I’m not personally predicting it because it feels like the album came and went

Damn, the contenders for this year are so weak. I think it’s between Olivia and Billie for AOTY. But since Billie already sweeped in 2020, I’m more inclined to say that Olivia will take the award.

If Taylor Swift were to win AOTY again she could streak the AOTY win as Billie Eilish did for ROTY streak 2 times

Carrie may be in Roots Gospel instead of CCM. I haven’t heard her album but I know Roots Gospel is supposed to be the country Christian category. Lady A’s Hillary Scott was in CCM though so who knows.
