I think AOTY goes to Billie but if we take Sour as contender I don’t understand why we can’t have Montero in consideration if it’s an acclaimed album with two smash hits. Lil Nas X is the moment and he’s one of the most influential artists this year. You can like him or not, but he’s totally on the race and if he wins it won’t be any surprise.

In my opinion front runners are:
    Happier Than Ever
    Sour
    Montero
    Medicine At Midnight
    Starting Over

All of these 5 could win.

    1. Olivia Rodrigo – Sour
    2. Drake – Certified Lover Boy
    3. Billie Eilish – Happier than Ever
    4. Lil Nas X – Montero
    5. Foo Fighters – Medicine at Midnight
    6. Chris Stapleton – Starting Over
    7. Taylor Swift – evermore
    8. Leon Bridges – Gold-Diggers Sound*

*- my WTF nominee. I feel an R&B album needs to be nominated and H.E.R and/or Jazmine would be too obvious. Leon is just as deserving anyways.

So happy Fearless TV will be no.1 during the first week after the end of the eligibility period, she should start doing Grammy promo for Evermore. Despite a December release, she is fresh off her AOTY win and should remind voters of her presence.

    Is it confirmed?

Lil Nas X will not win AOTY please. The Grammys love young white female singer-songwriters. It’s gonna be Olivia or Billie.

Olivia is Asian American. Stop calling her white.

She’s white. Nobody looks at Olivia Rodrigo and assumes anything but White.

She is, but she’s white passing enough for the example to work.

I could see a split like last year. Sour BPVA and HTE AOTY. But that’s only if Olivia underperforms in the GF somehow like Dua Lipa last year. It’s kinda unpredictable. This new trend of Truth Hurts/Bad Guy, Future Nostalgia/Folklore, is kinda showing that the pop voters vote somewhat different than the GF.

I have SOUR as a competitive candidate to win AOTY, however; Billie has this cross-genre appeal that can’t be denied atp (a sweep + back-to-back ROTY).

I see MONTERO getting in but having a hard time winning.

Why does it matter about Olivia’s race? Girl ran 2021 and should win AOTY no question. Sour is that bitch regardless of how you want to put it. I do think tho it’s high time a person of color or a non-pop nominee to win AOTY.

    RIP SOPHIE

Again, I know Olivia isn’t white. I was talking about the Grammys obsession with young female songwriters, most of which are white and make safe music. Even if she isn’t white, she falls into the same Billie/Taylor/Adele/Kacey territory.

I know it won’t happen, but how awesome would it be to get a Pop Duo nom for Am I Dreaming? Both Nas and Miley ate that song up.
