I just can’t believe Beyoncé didn’t take the opportunity to release today. That 1,981 days theory really got me.September 24, 2021 at 12:45 am #1204482823
Last friday of eligibility period! I think up till here, we all were kinda hopedicting for a Beyoncé or Kendrick drop so we’d have a definite frontrunner but that ain’t happening. Billie taking AOTY is looking very real to me now and I’m gonna go ahead and say, Lil Nas X can be a possible dark horse for AOTY with Olivia being the obvious close frontrunner.
Beyoncé can still happen! I don’t think she’ll mind a non-Friday release!!September 24, 2021 at 1:00 am #1204482839

*searches for a new Beyoncé album*September 24, 2021 at 1:02 am #1204482841
I don’t see any reason why she would release at the tail end of the season. Not every album can be Norman Fucking Rockwell!.September 24, 2021 at 2:21 am #1204482878
With not so much high prolific releases so far, I think the AOTY winner will be a smaller acclaimed indie artist,
If I’m allowed to hopedict too, here’s to an Arlo Parks sweep at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards!
FYC | 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards:
- Best New Artist
- Song Of The Year, Best Rock Song: "Hurt"
- Best Alternative Music Album: Collapsed In Sunbeams
- Best R&B Album: Heaux Tales
Tyler, The Creator
- Best Rap Album: Call Me If You Get LostSeptember 24, 2021 at 5:17 am #1204483005
Alternative music in general this year is weak compared to last year. I see St. Vincent dominating it, Wolf Alice is there but they are not really big name. Unless Sufjan and his big boob album make huge splash. Big Red Machine kinda underwhelming but a bunch of respected artists are attached to the album.September 24, 2021 at 6:10 am #1204483062

Could Miley get a nomination for Best Rock Performance for Nothing Else Matters? Metallica was promoting the song with her for The Black Album re-releaseSeptember 24, 2021 at 6:46 am #1204483110
“Could Miley get a nomination for Best Rock Performance for Nothing Else Matters?”
for best metal performance, yes. somebody already was winning with metallica cover in this category and metallica won a grammy for queen’s cover so in this category covers are very popular. plus, miley’s version is theoretically not even a cover cause the actual member of metallica is playing there lol but it’s the most streamable song of their new album and the only song that reached #1 on rock songs itunes chart so i think they’ll send the submission for sureSeptember 24, 2021 at 7:07 am #1204483142
any important song releases for the following week? I want to make sure I am not missing any contenders.September 24, 2021 at 7:34 am #1204483175
As far as I’m concerned, HTE is probably the frontrunner. I really don’t get why people are doubting this – the album got a lot of critical acclaim, it is cohesive, she’s actually matured in terms of her lyrical content in some ways with some very deep and intense cute on the album, and that’s before we get into how much they love her. She won ROTY for a song that was nowhere near as big as 5 of the other nominees.
I can see this year being another FN/Folklore year, with Billie getting her second AOTY win and Olivia getting her first BPVA win.
Also – I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a Foo Fighters AOTY win. But for now I’m gonna say HTE is the frontrunner.September 24, 2021 at 7:58 am #1204483201

This officially marks 46 predicted categories for me… I’ll try to make it to 50. I kept in mind Justin Bieber in these categories for his EP Freedom but ultimately I don’t think he’ll happen.
Wouldn’t CeCe’s song nominations be switched? Never lost topped the gospel airplay chart while believe for it has been in the top 10 on Christian contemporary radio for a few monthsSeptember 24, 2021 at 8:39 am #1204483267
there was never a real sign of Beyoncé releasing. just pure hope.
also notable (imo) is no new version of Levitating. I’m curious to see how Dua’s team navigates her submissions.
