    Hello all,
I was wondering why many of you think that 4 or 5 pop albums can get into AOY. Indeed, we’ve already seen a lineup with 4 Pop album nominated.
But that’s when committees still exist and voters can vote in many categories.
Now that they have limited categories to vote. Plus the fact that pop voters are not as big as country+Folk, or Alt+Rock or Jazz+Instrumental, Rap, R&b…
All of them may have their favorites, but blocked by the panel in the last decade

So there’s a strong possibility, that they will vote for their favourites in their categories. And this will lead to 1 or 2 Pop album nominated.
Sorry for the misspelled, I’m French

I think it will all depend on voter turnout at the end. I feel like the GF will reflect who has the most cross-genre appeal (for pop artists) and who has the most sole genre support.

ps: no worries about your english, it’s good! 🙂

I’m not buying Billie winning AOTY just yet, I know she’s beloved but I don’t see her as strong as she was with her debut album

In my opinion Olivia is the one to beat this Grammy cycle

Billie’s team are brilliant campaigning and focusing on how Billie and her brother make music on their own in their bedroom, which will always be impressive. I bet “everything i wanted” won ROTY after a full sweep the year before because of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hk3KPa6zWzo

billie won in 2020 because she did a big campaign what she’s not doing this year, billie won in roty because she had no competition, female Pop-Dance and female rap never won ROTY or SOTY Billie’s victories on the general field in 2020 and 2021 were obvious. she is not so obvious this year.

How the hell did Billie have zero competition this past year?

“Female dance has never won ROTY” is such a TERRIBLE excuse. DSN and Say So were seen as pop plain and simple. I promise you there is no “female dance” bias 💀

“everything i wanted” could’ve easily lost ROTY, especially according to GoldDerby where it was a very distant #3. “Obvious” my ass.

The Billie underestimating is getting EXTREMELY tiring.
