What will Billie actually submit? “Happier than Ever” or “Therefore I Am”?

I wouldn’t be surprised at her submission for Pop Solo being “Your Power” its the most important single she’s released so far and I can see that being her SOTY entry. Next choice would be Happier than Ever. Recency is always a safe bet in Pop Solo.

If “Peaches” and “Stay” are both submitted to ROTY, can both songs be nominated or only one of them?

    only one

Both can be nominated bc Justin will be a co nominee to different artists

They can both be nominated in ROTY, but only one can be nominated in Pop Duo/GP which is odd. Those rules make no sense.

I guess because the GF have more slots than the genre categories do

But then Country Duo/Group allows co-nomination loophole, but Pop doesn’t…

    The rules are bullshit.

Why do y’all think pop doesn’t have a songwriting category (aka Best Pop Song)? I can think of 3 reasons: 1) The Academy doesn’t think pop has enough substance, 2) There’s already 4 categories in pop, 3) Popular pop songs have an advantage and could get into SOTY sorta easily anyhow

    only one

Both can be nominated. There’s no rule on the limit in the GF. We’ve seen double nominees before. Beyoncé was a double nominee in ROTY just this year.

    99% reason #1

    1% reason #3

Each field has its own committee to determine the rules and which categories will exist.

I feel like Lil Nas & Doja still won’t get Pop Vocal Noms since of the emergence of Olivia and Billie’s relevancy. Additionally, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and Justin Bieber have all in the past 2 years gotten full pop nominations (vocal album, solo, duo/group), so I mean they sound good for a nomination.

however, Nas was nominated in the AOTY so he has support and won Pop Duo/Group, so I mean…

    RIP SOPHIE

I feel like taylor could be shut out from noms this year, thinking that it could be another Reputation moment where she only gets a BPVA nom.

    Go ask Beyoncé.
