Not to defend HDD, but they did predict Jay Z-mania in 2018. They’re hit or miss for sure though.
October 19, 2021 at 9:43 pm #1204527605“Thot Shit” for Best Music Video! Please!
“Thot Shit” might be more likely to get in than “Lumberjack” imo.
October 19, 2021 at 10:21 pm #1204527620Depending on what the final lineup looks like, the Foo Fighters could be the benefactors of where older voters go (ugh, that sentence pains me, I’ve been on GD.com for 17 years.) Plus, their induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame will be airing right at the time nominations are announced & voting begins. That’s exactly where Grammy veterans’ eyes will be.
Dave Growl’s book + Rock Hall Concert… that’s huge visibility at the right time
Following up on this, the Rock Hall Induction Ceremony premieres on HBO November 20th, 3 days before Grammy nominations. If Foo Fighters sneak into AOTY, their induction segment will be massive visibility at the right time
October 19, 2021 at 11:21 pm #1204527637Using this time to once again highlight Heard It In A Past Life as one of the worst AOTY snubs that year❤️
In all seriousness, I would love for her to surprise in SOTY with James but it’s quite a longshot.
Want Want by Maggie Rogers - Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Music Video, Best Country Song, Best Melodic Rap Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best Country Solo Performance, Best Rap Solo Performance, Best Metal Performance, Best Rock Song, Best American Roots Performance
October 20, 2021 at 6:45 am #1204527954question: am I crazy for thinking Wild Side can make it into Best Music Video? Maybe the EMAs mean nothing but it got nominated there

The Grammys are so unpredictable in that category, but considering both Normani and Cardi B have tons of industry support, and that urban leaning songs tend to do well in that category, it’s not a crazy theory . I also just did some research and a lot of Best Music Video nominees tend to get nominated at the UK music Video Awards, and Wild Side is currently nominated for one. I didn’t see many EMA nominees who also got the Grammy nom but the ones I did see tend to have won the Grammy. So the odds are in Wild Side’s favor.
October 20, 2021 at 8:36 am #1204528087They should’ve submitted a Love For Sale song to Best Arrangement, Instrumental and Vocals just for the hell of it

it’s an interesting possibility. and oddly enough Wild Side might have a better chance there than the R&B categories.
October 20, 2021 at 9:34 am #1204528203To be honest, I feel like Bieber is underestimated. Something is telling me he’ll get anywhere from 4-6 nominations this year.
Also very, VERY well aware that other award shows don’t determine the outcome of the Grammy’s in the slightest but he’s been the most nominated at multiple award shows this year, just food for thought.
If I had to take a guess I think Billie will lead the nominations followed by Olivia, Justin, and Lil Nas X.

Would you imagine Justice happening in Album Of The Year?

I think the best outcome for nominations would be him getting 3/3 in the pop categories, and a ROTY and SOTY nomination as well
October 20, 2021 at 10:25 am #1204528336I think Justin will get into Pop Album, Pop Duo and ROTY (maybe SOTY too). What will his Pop Solo submission be? Ghost? Maybe that one too, but the category is crowded with bigger songs.

I really don’t think it’s impossible. It’s one of the biggest albums of the year and the quality is there. His team and label are also campaigning way more than they ever have so I wouldn’t rule it out

Probably Anyone. It’s critically acclaimed and I think they gonna save Ghost for next year if it gets bigger and given that Justice doesn’t win anything this year
