Personally, I think she needs to put out more material because I don’t think one hit song will be enough hype in order to take her seriously by the voters

Agreed. Unless DL is an undeniable 16 week running #1 smash she could easily be passed over. Particularly in Pop Solo. There are so many major releases coming in 2021. She could be overshadowed. We’ll see if there will be more hits to come.

Honey, that Olivia broad and “Driver’s License” has only been out for 5 minutes and it’s automatically getting in ROTY, SOTY, BNA, and Pop Solo.  Get real!

On the bright side at least Olivia made this year much more interesting. Like she already has a number one hit (I know it’s not number one yet but like… it’s going to become one), and it just depends on what else she releases this year and if she does enough but I’m excited to talk about her future and predict because it’s not clear but just yet

Olivia and Driver’s License can foreseeably get a Song of the Year nom and Best New Artist nom similarly to Julia Michaels with Issues.

Driver’s License can easily take the Issues, In My Blood, If The World Was Ending slot in Song of the Year.

Very early predictions are signalling Drivers License to become a massive hit, possibly on the same pedestal as OTR.

    As big as OTR? Wow!

Olivia Rodrigo is a Disney star. They rarely get taken seriously by the Academy. It took years for Miley Cyrus to get a Grammy nomination and Hannah Montana was Huge and Miley is a household name. It also took Ariana and Demi a while as well. I wouldn’t bet the house on Olivia. If it happens, it happens but she’s far from a “lock”.

Hannah Montana was specifically marketed towards kids, the only Grammy shock was that never got any Visual Media nomination. Miley herself did performed at the Grammys in 2009 and The Climb did get nominated before being rescinded.

Ariana never had the burden of being an “ex-act” and got nominated during the ME era once she established herself as a celebrity and not a one hit wonder.

Demi was in a similar boat where her first nominations came from the Confident era, her 2nd since shedding her Ex-Act image.

Olivia is more like the Jonas Brothers who got a Best New Artist nominated first era and had the musical “credibility” despite their Disney-ness.

Emmys FYC | Alan Tudyk in “Resident Alien” | Billie Piper in “I Hate Suzie” | Ego Nwodim in “Saturday Night Live” | Kaley Cuoco in “Harley Quinn” | “Dickinson” | “P-Valley” | “Pose” | “Superstore”

Tbh i had no idea she was a Disney actress. Plus she is not as mainstream as Selena. Demi, and Miley (with 2/3 taking time to earn their first nod), people are getting to know her because of DL. She has also self-written songs for the show she is in. If she keeps the hype and and the musical credibility then she will become a contender for BNA

They might be if they weren’t submitted. I believe Mood was though.

I don’t think Morgan Wallen can happen in the GF. I’m still surprised that he wasn’t nominated for Best New Artist.

Luke Combs was also snubbed this year, but I think that as a previous BNA nominee he may be more likely to recieve a nod. And Forever After All also outperformed 7 Summers. I feel like both will finally get into Country Solo and maybe Luke into Song as well in case they can guarantee he’ll lose.

    FYC:

Record of the Year: Hit Different by SZA ft. Pharrell Williams & co.
Song of the Year: Good Days by SZA ft. Jacob Collier
