DL holds to #1 for fifth consecutive week, holding off UP by Cardi B. I think Drivers License is the first ROTY/SOTY possible nominee for this season.

BTW, the person who leaked the Adele thing is stanleaktingz. They steal everything they get right from Atrl. Can we please wait until Adele announces officially instead of falling for these rumours?

Anyways, my WAYYY too early predictions for ROTY/SOTY in alphabetical order. This only includes songs that have been released.

    ROTY:

    1. Damage-H.E.R
    2. Drivers License-Olivia Rodrigo
    3. Good Days-Sza
    4. Levitating-Dua Lipa ft. Dababy
    5. Therefore I Am-Billie Eilish
    6. Positions-Ariana Grande
    7. WAP-Cardi B ft. Megan Thee Stallion (or maybe Up depending on what Cardi submits. If they actually end up holding WAP to never even submit it then 🙄)
    8. We’re Good-D. Smoke

    SOTY

    1. Afterglow-Ed Sheeran
    2. Damage-H.E.R
    3. Drivers License-Olivia Rodrigo
    4. Good Days-Sza
    5. Lonely-Justin Bieber ft. Benny Blanco (Holy will not get nominated. This one could if submitted)
    6. Therefore I Am-Billie Eilish
    7. WAP-Cardi B ft. Megan Thee Stallion (A controversial pick, I know but this topped NPRs, Rolling Stone and Pitchforks YE lists. It also has easily the most memorable lyrics of the year)
    8. Willow-Taylor Swift

    FYC
    AOTY: Blue Weekend-Wolf Alice
    ROTY/SOTY: WAP-Cardi B ft. Megan Thee Stallion
    Best Drama Actress: Mj Rodriguez

I mean the song from early 2021 to be remembered will be DL, it kinda stands out, other ones could be deemed weak by September that are currently floating in the top 10. We need more strong songs to come.

This grammy season is weaker than i thought. the current potential nominees and most of the stuff in consideration are not it (with few exceptions).

I was thinking Taylor’s re-recordings would spice up things a little bit, but i HIGHLY doubt the grammys would nominate any, since all of them already got their share at some point.

If Taylor submits any re-recordings, i feel like it will only appear in the performance categories and that’s it.

What should the category known as “Progressive R&B Album” be called?

Why not just have TRADITIONAL R&B ALBUM and MODERN R&B ALBUM? So easy…

Honey, they should’ve just kept the first title: Best Contemporary R&B Album.

The Year of Our Lord Taylor transitioning to The Year of Our Lord Olivia

can we wait to hear a body of work? She had a voice, but does she have something original to give to current landscape of pop? We shall see.

I would say Good Days is up there with Drivers License. It’s also coming from a more established artist that will release an album that is bound to be a critical and commercial favourite of the year. Olivia could have that too, but it’s less guaranteed.
