April 28, 2021 at 3:43 pm #1204234000Lana seems to be actually serious about Blue Banisters, she’s already teasing a song and music video. let’s just hope that photo isn’t the actual cover…

April 28, 2021 at 4:27 pm #1204234051I’m honestly starting to doubt Positions. If anything, I am starting to believe that Positions will only receive nominations in the Pop categories and maybe Record or Song. This year is just too competitive and many can agree that Positions isn’t her best album.
Something else to note is that having Olivia Rodrigo over Billie Eilish is very risky, especially cause Billie Eilish is coming from 2 big wins in a row.
Lastly, you’re missing Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift from your list which are two big contenders in my opinion !!
April 28, 2021 at 4:48 pm #1204234073Crazy how every year none of us get half the nominees right anyways. I don’t remember any of us predicting: Chilombo, Everyday Life, or Djesse Bol 3. I do remember predicting HAIM but some of y’all laughed at me and made me change my predictions. 😆
Congratulations to Grammy Winners: Jazmine Sullivan, Doja Cat, SZA and Olivia Rodrigo!
April 28, 2021 at 5:22 pm #1204234119Someone please explain to me how the absolute fuck ‘Good News’ is #1 in AOTY odds?
April 28, 2021 at 5:27 pm #1204234131First of all, this is my first ever post on this forum – I have been viewing the Grammy 2022 predictions for a while now, and finally decided to make an account!
Okay, so far these are my predictions for what could be nominated in AOTY based on what has been released/announced so far…
Album of the Year:
Happier Than Ever – Billie Eilish
Sour – Olivia Rodrigo
Positions – Ariana Grande
Evermore – Taylor Swift
An Evening with Silk Sonic – Silk Sonic
Good News – Megan Thee Stallion
Daddy’s Home – St. Vincent
8th spot I’m not sure about, either a country nod or another pop one.
That said – if Kendrick, SZA, Beyoncé or Rihanna drop before eligibility period then they will shake things up A LOT. Planet Her by Doja Cat could also be a surprising contender and maybe even CB2. This is shaping up to be one of the most interesting AOTY contenders in ages.
April 28, 2021 at 5:27 pm #1204234133Is Evermore really going to make it into the final 8 for AOTY though? Speak Now couldn’t after Fearless won. I know that was when there was a lineup of 5 but I don’t see it happening until it does.
Speak Now sounds pretty similar to Fearless the same way Evermore is Folklore’s sister and Speak Now was pretty well-liked garnering a few nominations. Evermore could perform the same as Speak Now plus a SOTY nom for Willow.
Maybe Taylor campaigns for Evermore but after this year’s ceremony, she’s probably not trying that again. I see the BRP blocking it in the case that they don’t want a consecutive Taylor win.
April 28, 2021 at 5:28 pm #1204234136Someone please explain to me how the absolute fuck ‘Good News’ is #1 in AOTY odds?
Yeah, I’m confused too. I think they’re basing it on Meg’s 3x wins this year but I do not think it’s #1 at all for AOTY. Maybe Best Rap Album but AOTY? I can see it being nominated but not a lock…
April 28, 2021 at 5:31 pm #1204234138Someone please explain to me how the absolute fuck ‘Good News’ is #1 in AOTY odds?
I’d say it’s because it’s an album released this eligiblity period with several big hits by an artist they’ve recently celebrated with 3 wins. Leftover good will could translate into more GF noms including AOTY. But I think she’ll fall down after some albums (Silk Sonic, Billie, Kendrick) are released.

Positions definitely made much more of an impact than both Evermore and Chemtrails, even if I like Evermore more than Positions.

Big TimeApril 28, 2021 at 6:27 pm #1204234188I could see BRP blocking Billie to avoid a three peat in ROTY.
Congratulations to Grammy Winners: Jazmine Sullivan, Doja Cat, SZA and Olivia Rodrigo!
April 28, 2021 at 6:30 pm #1204234192Guys I really can’t see Ariana Grande happening anymore for Album. Remember when we predicted Harry Styles but he ended up only appearing in the Pop categories? That’s what is gonna happen to Ariana Grande. When you look at all of Ari’s past nominations, her only album that received an Album of the Year nomination was thank u, next. That album is her most highly critically acclaimed, carrying an 86 on Metacritic. Positions currently holds a 72 on Metacritic, which is the 2nd worst score out of all her albums. Positions is safe to receive a Pop Vocal Album nomination just like all her other albums besides Yours Truly, but Album of the Year is a stretch in my opinion.
April 28, 2021 at 6:38 pm #1204234207That cover alone deserved AOTY, behold blue Banisters is coming for blood!
