I’m honestly going be surprised if Lana Del Rey makes it to AOTY again.

On a completely different note, Porter Robinson’s album “Nurture” is so beautiful. If it loses Best Dance/Electronic Album I will riot.

FYC: Best Dance Recording – Look At The Sky by Porter Robinson

    FYC:

Record of the Year: Hit Different by SZA ft. Pharrell Williams & co.
Song of the Year: Good Days by SZA ft. Jacob Collier

A pop album always sneaks its way into AOTY without a BPVA nom 🤔 Billie can do that due to cross-genre appeal but I can’t see pop voters not voting for her even tho it already happened so I don’t think this is happening again this year

Honey, stop being delusional when it comes to Taylor Swift’s Evermore.  It is NOT happening in Album of the Year.

Yes they did. Almost like this person is just talking about of their ass with their delusions that they are God.

The Grammys are unpredictable. Taylor Swift is a force. Let’s wait and see.

I am sorry for my past behaviour. I am sorry for being a turd. I would like to try and be better.

evermore’s impact reminds me of Speak Now. Fearless/Folklore was such a monumental moment in Taylor’s Swift’s career that it will definitely overshadow the quality of the evermore’s/speak now’s impact. I feel like that’s to shame. Speak Now, personally feels better than Fearless, and I know some of you agree, but Taylor’s impact with Fearless just overcomplicates the emotions going into Speak Now. She just won AOTY months later, and it just feels like a commercially shaky follow-up. And that is to shame, because Dear John was a bop and a half.

So, personally, Taylor’s stylistic shift from synth and electro pop to fully fledged chamber and folk pop on Folklore is unmatched to evermore. It follows the same aesthetic, even if its country and alternative influence are more effervescent. I feel like it will get the traditional pop nominations, but will not fledge into more nominations. Although, I hope it over performs my expectations. Additionally, I am pulling for no body no crime to get a country group/duo nominations as well.

    RIP SOPHIE

I can see Evermore, Positions, Chemtrails, Good News all missing in favor of newer releases. However, we have to see the QUALITY of these releases first, like Billie, Olivia, Doja. Also we’re doing the same mistake as last year: the BRP will not choose all these “big” projects by default, they are biased and will select a couple of big projects and then weird ones (I’m still salty for the Harry snub, yes). St Vincent seems very probable. Arlo Parks too.

Also the new Lana snippet sounds a bit underwhelming, it feels like something she already did. The concept too. I hope she will prove me wrong.

I feel like the Grammys eligibility period makes no sense at times because it favors newer albums rather than reflecting on the newer releases over time. Personally, if I had to change the eligibility period, here is what I would do:

    1. Eligibility period: January 1st ~ December 31st

    2. Let three months slide to allow people to submit and campaign for their work.

    3. Nomination voting: March (1st-31st)

    4. Nominations announced: April 1st (I think it would be funny to say, haha April fools if we did not like a nomination)

    5.  Winner Voting: Throughout April until the 30th:

    6. Grammy Awards: mid May

I really do not understand why there is typically a gap between choosing the winners from voters and the actual ceremony. I would understand if there was a difference, but I would rather have a solid eligibility period rather than just a wonky September end-date. Additionally, it will allow voters to actually reflect not the eligibility period rather than just vote on current biases. Something I am listening to in August and September typically does not reflect the whole eligibility period of what someone is listening to.

    RIP SOPHIE

I could see BRP blocking Billie to avoid a three peat in ROTY.

I will never underestimate Billie at the Grammys again. They apparently love her in the GF. If she gets in Album of the Year again she’ll win.

I agree that Positions feels out of AOTY. I also don’t see Evermore or the Lana albums happening.

The pop representatives will be among Billie, Olivia, Bieber (as much as y’all hate him, his era is unarguably the biggest and that album has multiple big hits), and whoever fills the obligatory “AOTY nomonation without a PVA nom” spot.
