St. Vincent KILLED it, wow! Daddy’s Home is so worthy of Album of the Year!

good 4 u really showed that Olivia separated herself from her peers by creating her own lane. People cannot say this is Lorde or Taylor, but more a stark post-punk 2000s number from something from maybe Avril’s catalogue.

She did what needed to be done!

    Yes! Exactly!
    And she can sing!

This isn’t in comparison to anyone but like she always HAD a voice.

I’m glad she had huge exposure with “Drivers License” to help her out, because it sounds like Sour is going to be a mixed bag of genres. It’s not a bad thing artistically, but not the best for carving out a path. Conan Gray’s Kid Krow suffered from genre confusion, which is why I don’t think he’s been able to make his breakthrough.

Daddy’s Home does feel the most commercial St.Vincent album yet. MASSEDUCTION sounds more commercial, but the cover art and other marketed images were extremely X-rated haha. I hope this can appeal towards those who like 80s soft rock.

Personally, I fail to believe that AOTY winner would be St Vincent. The Grammys have always snubbed alternative artists, even if they deserve it (critically or commercially). Just take Fetch the Bolt Cutters for example. one of the most critically acclaimed alt. rock releases… ever.

But Ms. Clark did what needed to done!

    RIP SOPHIE

<p style=”text-align: left;”>And this is what artists tend to forget… Make your own lane. What makes you different, what makes you distinct, what distinguishes you, what separates you.. Especially the up and coming ones…</p>

St. Vincent album sounds really good! Hopefully it scores a couple nominations! Of course NY Times gave it a 60 😂

Daddy’s home might not even make it to general field noms…a win is very out of reach.

Personally I feel it is a step down from masseducation but still a solid album worthy of aoty than all we have heard till now.
