If Cole’s album manages to sustain longevity by the end of eligibility and avoids competition from bigger releases, he’s in. Hopefully for him, Cardi, Drake, & Kendrick don’t drop in time for Grammy consideration.

Olivia seems possible in AOTY now, the album shows great hold on streaming services. I think she is kinda the break-out Star of this Grammy Season with 2 huge hits. I don’t think Ariana will be considered for any GF category, since her material is obviously not on the same Level as Thank You Next and it will be kinda forgotten by voting time. She will be nominated in pop categories though.

    AOTY =

1-2 hip-hop albums (Kendrick, Cardi, J. Cole or Drake)

1 country album (Chris Stapleton or Miranda Lambert + Co.)

1-2 rock or alternative albums (St. Vincent, Foo Fighters, Machine Gun Kelly, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen)

1 R&B album (Silk Sonic, HER or Jazmine)

2-3 Pop albums (Billie, Olivia Rodrigo, Justin, Lil Nas X)

I actually think there might be only 2 pop albums nominated in AOTY this year in favor of more hip-hop… (as of now) depending on what new contenders drop (Adele? Rihanna? Beyoncé? Etc)

Based on your hypothetical list I could see the final nominees being:

    Billie Eilish
    Cardi B
    Foo Fighters
    H.E.R.
    Kendrick Lamar
    Olivia Rodrigo
    Silk Sonic
    Chris Stapleton

That would be a competitive line up! Unless Adele drops…

With Megan going on hiatus/the album not having strong longevity, I don’t see how “Good News” is a lock. Especially on a straight vote. People like Megan, but I don’t think the album is well-liked enough to make it under these circumstances.

I forgot where I saw it but wasn’t machine gun Kelly and Megan fox pretty. Controversial looking at the billboard music awards and now people aren’t as in to him becuase of it apparantly. I wanna say it was e news. Def wondering if it will affect his vote count. They also were reporting on Gaga’s story and I’m thinking that she will win over some new fans revealing it publicly and just helping survivors

Why nobody thinks J. Cole in AOTY nomination? Y’all thinking 5 – 6 pop albums but not one rap album in AOTY line-up.

He’s my rap pick! (I’m only expecting one unless someone huge releases before the deadline)

I also think Bad Bunny is being underestimated in the general field. If the Latin block unites behind him, he seems like a safe prediction.

. True. And I know this is not the biggest correlation but he also was a wwe champion and I never know if that will help him with some voters

These past two albums and eras have been extremely successful commercial for Benito, with the committee gone that’s a bonus for every popular act in contention.

While we’re at it, nominate DAKITI in Record of the Year & Pop Duo/Group too 🙂
