Apparently, “Solar Power” by Lorde is out.

However I can’t listen to it because it’s not out on Spotify yet 💀

Update: It has been taken down. Oops.

I’m so confused as to where Doja Cat will end up genre wise. Will she submit Planet Her to pop or progressive r&b. I assume she’ll go pop.

She seems like a Post Malone situation.

If Melanie Martinez’s K-12 couldn’t make it into music film, I really can’t see Doja making it either.

Doja is 1000x more popular than Melanie.

I believe she submitted to r&b initially and was moved to pop for Hot Pink.

People on here tend to equate how well an album performed to the memorability of an album era and it’s evident when you say things like Sweetener was bigger than Positions.

    Ok Blacc Chyna.

I think she misses pop duo because her strongest contender is 34 35 (remix) which will need to beat KMM, since Doja is on both. Don’t see that happening and I have a hard time imagining MHLN gets in.

Aren’t you the user who thinks Taylor is receiving 8 nominations? Obviously your POV is a bit skewed & confused.

Girl because it’s obvious that Sweetener era was bigger than Positions. Sweetener has No Tears Left To Cry and God Is a Woman. She also promoted Sweetener hard. Positions was released in October and Ariana didn’t sing nothing live. Positions (song) did well and an album was successful in steaming but it wasn’t that big as Sweetener or TUN.

This is factually and objectively false.

Actually no it’s not. You’re comparing eras arbitrarily without considering the circumstance of their releases. Positions benefited from a lack of competition during a WW pandemic. Hence why it’s chart success somewhat sustained. Sweetener & DW had more impact & were much bigger eras in comparison. That’s not factually or objectively false at all. Saying Positions is “extremely successful” is though.

H.E.R.’s debut album is being released next Friday, June 18th. How do you guys think she will fare with her official debut album?

Sweetener was Aris first taste of critical acclaim and had amazing videos. It was stronger in my opinion (hence it won bpva). Positions is a step down from Aris previous era but nomination is a sure thing especially in pop categories. Now Ari will get in simply because she is even more popular after tun.

Very obvious indeed. Positions is not an extremely successful or undeniable era for Ariana. It was a rushed release to capitalize on the lack of projects dropping during COVID. The reception was average at best & she barely promoted the album. It’s not bigger or more impactful than DW/Sweetener. Anyone who thinks that is clearly either a delusional stan or just living under a rock.
