So, is the delusion of Lorde getting nominated over now?

No shade because I love her but the fact that some of you are predicting her after this makes no sense to me.

The taste of the pop voters that year was truly laughable.

I don’t know if there is hate for Billie exactly, there just isn’t much hype for her new music. I’m sure it will do well in album sales but it won’t produce any hits. Kind of like folklore. Except no Grammys.

    FYC: Grammys 2022

    AOTY: evermore
    ROTY, SOTY, Pop Solo: willow
    Pop Album: evermore
Pop Duo: evermore w Bon Iver
    Rap Song/ Melodic Rap: closure
    Dance Recording: long story short
    Remix Recording: Love Story (elvira)
Country Solo/Country Song: cowboy like me
Country Duo: You All Over Me w Marren Morris
    American Roots Perf/Song: ivy
    Gospel Per: epiphany (live)
Rock Perf/Song: ‘tis the damn season
    Music Video: willow
    Music Film: folklore studio sessions

Yeah, the Lorde predictions are perplexing. Critical darling+alternative/indie artist=/= guaranteed Grammy noms

Get real!  Esperanza Spalding’s win was NOT a mess.  You wouldn’t say that if it were Ariana Grande or Taylor Swift.

That was the Lady Antebellum SOTY/ROTY year win right??

The general field however was a fcking mess that year 😭

Them nominating for ROTY “Nothing On You”, “Love the Way You Lie”, “F*** You”, “Empire State of Mind” then eventually giving it “Need You Now” was…. not really surprising :((

It was upsetting to say the least.. but not really unexpected

I remember someone once saying on twitter about how if Billie flopped after her debut then she’d be the biggest one era wonder ever…

Bo Burnham really should win Best Comedy Album. This bitch literally gave us a comedy musical album that funny and refreshing.

    this is disgusting.

I’m happy this was brought up and that pretty much everyone can agree the nominees that year were gross. That one was Lorde’s Grammy hands down. I suppose they all agreed no one would vote for her so that Ed could have it easy. (BARF!)

Dua Lipa’s debut album deserved a nod among those too, and so did Paramore’s “After Laughter”.

FYC | Best music this season:

Arlo Parks - Collapsed In Sunbeams
    St. Vincent - Daddy's Home
    Jazmine Sullivan - Heaux Tales
Tyler, The Creator - Call Me If You Get Lost
    Wolf Alice - Blue Weekend

Dua Lipas debut wasn’t that good, it is very funny though some people last summer were saying FN is not competitive on Pop Vocal because her last one missed.

Um, other than “Empire of State of Mind,” I don’t see how any choice would’ve been better. “Need You Now” was an actual hit, need you remember. It peaked at #2 for a country song and I think was in the top 10 best performing singles of Billboard that year.

It’s one win in recent history I do not protest at all.

I couldn’t get over his Oscar snub for Eighth Grade.

When is Silk Sonic releasing the album? Or at least another single? It’s been ages since Leave the Door Open. Starting to think they might miss the deadline…
