Get real!  “WAP” does NOT feel so old.  Stop smoking that wacky tobaccy.  It is better than any song released in 2021.

Also, I’m going to link Jazmine winning AOTY at the BET awards. The way she talks about her mother just brought me to tears. I had a mother who went into remission, and now I have my grandmother dealing with cancer. I found out about her diagnosis when HEAUX Tales was released. And that EP really did put me in a different headspace so I thank Jazmine for that ❤️ https://youtu.be/DS-ZqRyrb34

Honey, I am so sorry.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

WAP is not eligible this year unless she releases an album before September 30 and it’s on the track list. But what if the album comes out in October?? Does that mean WAP is eligible for the 2023 Grammys?? Lol

I believe this is similar situation like Truth Hurts iirc. Yeah, I think WAP needs to be attached with parent album.

My personal favorite release of the week is Lucy Dacus’s “Home Video.” I’ve been a fan of hers for awhile now, and this album is a beautiful songwriting, vocal, and instrumental showcase for her. She’s been a frequent collaborator of Phoebe Bridgers, so if you liked “Punisher,” I recommend giving this album a listen! I’m hoping Lucy can have a similar breakout year to Phoebe this year, and maybe pick up a few deserved nominations in the rock categories. Even if it flies under the Grammy radar, it’s definitely worth checking out!

Besties, Maroon 5 is NOT making it to pop duo this year. Memories was a far bigger hit than beautiful mistakes and that still missed on a weak year.

And it’s already being dropped by radio.

I don’t know it has been reaching new peaks on the Hot 100 each weeks (#13 this week) and hit number one on Hot AC Radio. Plus since Megan’s on it the Grammys could nominate it. Memories also wasn’t backed with an album in 2019 whereas Beautiful Mistakes is. I wouldn’t rule it out. Definitely choosing it over Mood and Butter.
