Gotta love how the early odds have AOTY as a super close race without a clear frontrunner.

So who do we think benefitted for the nominees being expanded to 10? I know haters will say Taylor, but lets think for a moment:

    ROTY

ABBA – I Still Have Faith in You
    Jon Batiste – Freedom
Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga – I Get a Kick Out of You
Justin Bieber Featuring Daniel Cesar & Giveon – Peaches
Brandi Carlile – Right on Time
Doja Cat Featuring SZA – Kiss Me More
Billie Eilish – Happier Than Ever
Lil Nas X – Montero (Call Me by Your Name)
    Olivia Rodrigo – Drivers License
Silk Sonic – Leave the Door Open

    AOTY

    We Are – Jon Batiste
Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga – Love for Sale
Justin Bieber – Justice (Triple Chucks Deluxe)
Doja Cat – Planet Her (Deluxe)
Billie Eilish – Happier Than Ever
H.E.R. – Back of My Mind
    Lil Nas X – Montero
    Olivia Rodrigo – Sour
    Taylor Swift – Evermore
    Kanye West – Donda

    SOTY

    Ed Sheeran – Bad Habits
Alicia Keys & Brandi Carlile – A Beautiful Noise
    Olivia Rodrigo – Drivers License
    H.E.R. – Fight for You
Billie Eilish – Happier Than Ever
Doja Cat Featuring SZA – Kiss Me More
Silk Sonic – Leave the Door Open
Lil Nas X – Montero (Call Me by Your Name)
Justin Bieber Featuring Daniel Cesar & Giveon – Peaches
Brandi Carlile – Right on Time

if it was 8 nominees and not 10, doja would’ve still made, just look at all the nominations she received she has the support 🤷‍♀️

I think Kanye and Doja would’ve gotten in anyway.

We’re really continuing the Brandi and Doja underestimating even after noms are out, wow.

My guesses: Evermore and Donda (only albums to not receive additional gf noms)
ROTY: I Still Have Faith In You and Montero (Abba is obviously 10th. I think Montero bc LNX couldn’t get in pop solo and if he missed rap song, then he can’t have been that strong there)
SOTY: A Beautiful Noise and Bad Habits (These feel so obvious sorry)

With 8 nominations for AOTY it probably would’ve been Kanye and Taylor that missed not Doja.

I just think that Brandi makes more sense in SOTY than ROTY. That’s the only reason I took her out. I love love love love that song.

Pretty sure Donda is above Justice in AOTY. Because Donda is actually winning Rap Album. He was probably 9th.

I do wonder when exactly Goldderby will accept that Justin is quite liked among voters, even if he’s not popular in this forum.

Justin overperformed to a ridiculous extent. He got in R&B perf and knocked out Heartbreak Anniversary, which is insanely baity. Anyone, which bombed, managed to edge out Taylor Swift. It also more impressively beat out 2x pop solo winner Ed Sheeran, and Lil Nas X, who were WAY more predicted. There’s also that Music Video nomination which I have no words for. Peaches overcame a vote split with TWO OTHER competitive Justin songs and STILL got into SOTY.

If Donda was above one of the pop albums, it’s one of the ones that missed the genre. It’s clearly not Justice.

Donda is above Bieber and Lil Nas X for sure. I’ll even argue to say he’s ahead of Jon Batiste who I believe will not be a factor when it comes to “wins”. Plus he had an advantage of being early in the ballot.

I really don’t understand what Mr. Mason was thinking when they expanded the nominees last minute. It only brings up more questions of legitimacy and WHY the field was expanded, and to benefit which artists. It just pushes further the narrative that the Grammys are a shady bunch.

Doja was not only top 8 but top 5 in all her categories. They can stay mad. 😌. She got in everywhere I predicted and surprised me with that extra Rap nom.

I think Lil Nas X, Jon Batiste and Taylor were definitely at the bottom of the top 10. Either of these 3 could have missed. Lil Nas missed two Key nominations in Pop that he was favored for. Justin got in across the board in Pop so I doubt he was in jeopardy. Doja also got in every category she submitted to besides Music Video.
