Doja Cat could be one of the big winners on Grammy night as well, with Planet Her nominated for album of the year and best pop vocal album, and its SZA-assisted lead single “Kiss Me More” also up for record and song of the year, as well as best pop duo/group performance.
An extremely creative and prolific live performer, Doja would undoubtedly be even higher up in these rankings were she also scheduled to take the stage on Sunday night, but she has not yet been announced as a performer — and if you take her recent tweets about quitting music at face value, we should probably keep expectations low for her having much presence of any kind on Sunday night.”
It’s not like Doja is out here speaking up for Dr Luke. And she’s already hinted about him taking producer’s credits for songs he had nothing to do with. You don’t have to support Doja. And you can still call out Dr Luke. But trying to turn Doja into a villain or claim she’s a trash person for a contract she signed when she was 17 and before the Kesha news broke is ridiculous.

Then, she decided to not speak out about Dr Luke. She wants out? the media would support her. Is she stuck? then she should make it known. She can share her thoughts about him. That silence is a decision that benefits him.

She could “speak out”, but she’d be sacrificing her career in the process. It doesn’t matter how much public support she gets, those contracts are ironclad and her career would suffer greatly. Her image would be consumed by all the attention and drama if she tries to get out. She’s already said something shady about Dr. Luke then retracted it as soon as it got a lot of attention. She has also indirectly thanked fans for having her back and for calling out Dr. Luke stealing producer’s credits on her songs. Kesha still has to put out albums under his label. There is no getting out of these deals.
