Need to Know is peaking right around voting. So I wouldn’t be shocked if Doja surprises and wins. But this is Hurricane’s award to lose.

- The White LotusNovember 23, 2021 at 3:58 pm #1204601585i DID want industry baby to win melodic rap, but that was before when i thought ntk wouldn’t stand a chance at a nomination 😅
November 23, 2021 at 4:03 pm #1204601601I really think Doja can pull this off and win. A lot of people underestimated and didn’t really understand it when it came out, but then it blew up and now it’s one of the most popular songs of the year and one of Doja’s best. I wouldn’t be mad if Industry Baby won too, but NTK is the fan favorite in my opinion.
November 23, 2021 at 4:14 pm #1204601637Lol. The rap voters have become more and more conservative. Doja ain’t winning.
The way Nas (the straight legend) got into Rap Album without a panel, booyah!
November 23, 2021 at 4:15 pm #1204601639it’s a win for the girls, gays, and theys either way me thinks

Nope. People here haven’t been paying attention to the Rap field the past four years.
November 23, 2021 at 9:53 pm #1204602542Certified Lover Boy felt like the obvious Rap rep in Album of the Year based on its chart success. But I should’ve never underestimated the power of Kanye with Grammy voters. They absolutely love him despite his shenanigans. Good News missing is disappointing but I’m happy Megan, Cardi, Doja, & Saweetie all got in. The love for Cole, Nas, Kendrick, and Tyler is also appreciated.
November 24, 2021 at 4:46 am #1204602974If Donda wins anything, Hip Hop is dead. Only 2 good songs (Believe What I Say and Come To Life) and others are garbage.

I think so too. I also think it would be amazing if the Grammys got Youngboy to perform somehow… like that would be a cultural event
It’s hard to beat Kanye in these categories but WUSYANAME has some of the ingredients to do it.
November 24, 2021 at 6:05 am #1204603100I’m glad Drake flopped at the Grammys. Hopefully, that continues in the final round.

I think he will. He’s going up against Kanye, J.Cole, & Kendrick. Kanye and J.Cole are top 2 in Album for me and I have Kendrick winning Rap Song and Rap Perf.
Drake is never really a favorite to win. He even lost in 2017 and he was showing up everywhere in the GF.
November 24, 2021 at 6:36 am #1204603168Do you guys think J.Cole is a dark horse in the Rap Album category? He’s the only artist that showed up in all Rap categories, everybody else missed at least one. I think he seems to have a huge support
November 24, 2021 at 7:32 am #1204603276Initial rankings
Best Rap Album
1. Donda-Kanye West
2. The Off-Season-J. Cole
3. Certified Lover Boy-Drake
4. CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST-Tyler The Creator
5. King’s Disease II-NasThoughts: I think Kanye has this in the bag. It’s his comeback to rap and he’s a legend. Cole can theoretically upset since he’s overdue for a grammy as a lead artist but I doubt it.
Best Rap Performance
1. Family Ties-Baby Keem with Kendrick Lamar
2. Way 2 Sexy-Drake ft. Future & Young Thug
3. Up-Cardi B
4. M Y . L I F E-J. Cole ft. 21 Savage & Morray
5. Thot Shit-Megan Thee StallionThoughts: Betting against Kendrick in rap is a silly thing to do. All of these songs feel pretty weak. No need to overthink this.
Best Melodic Rap Performance
1. Hurricane-Kanye West ft. The Weeknd & Lil Baby
2. Industry Baby-Lil Nas X ft. Jack Harlow
3. Need To Know-Doja Cat
4. Wusyaname-Tyler, The Creator ft. Youngboy Never Broke Again & Ty Dolla $ign
5. P R I D E . I S . T H E . D E V I L-J. Cole ft. Lil BabyThoughts: I’m not sure on this one. IB is the biggest song. Hurricane is by the rap album frontrunner. Need To Know is the most recent. I can see any of those 3 winning honestly.
Best Rap Song
1. Family Ties-Baby Keem ft. Kendrick Lamar
2. Bath Salts-DMX ft. Jay-Z & Nas
3. Jail-Kanye West ft. Jay-Z
4. M Y . L I F E-J. Cole ft. 21 Savage & Morray
5. Best Friend-Saweetie ft. Doja CatThoughts: I think the BNA nomination probably seals this for Keem. Jay-Z and Nas together is bait and voters may want to pay tribute to DMX so that’s probably the upset here. Jail could also win too. Cole and Saweetie are lucky to be nominated.
