Jazmine has the unfortunate luck of going against H.E.R. and Jon Batiste, unless she pulls a Kelly Clarkson-level win. She did awesome in the R&B field overall.

I do think that Jazmine could pull off a win for R&B Album, possibly R&B song, but not both. Could Jon Batiste and H.E.R. split votes for R&B album since they are both nominated for AOTY? Therefore, giving Jazmine a win?

Kind of surprised with Jam and Lewis’ album being left out, thought they would be the veteran slot?

Minus Bieber and Snoh Aalegra, the R&B field is the most solid field

Traditional R&B: I would look out for Lucky Daye and Yebba since the latter won a Grammy here a few years ago. Also, no Andra Day? Or JHud?

“Fight for You” will win Best Traditional R&B Performance, and even if she doesn’t, she won’t go home emptyhanded. She will win the Media Song category. She’s also very competitive for R&B Album.

I’m not buying Jon Batiste winning any of the awards in R&B. He will win plenty in Jazz and for the SOUL soundtrack.

I think there will be more passion for Jazmine in R&B Album, than for AOTY nominees H.E.R. or Jon.

I think the wins will go like…

    R&B Performance:
Silk Sonic – “Leave the Door Open”

    Traditional R&B Performance:
    H.E.R. – “Fight For You”

    R&B Song:
“Leave the Door Open” (Silk Sonic)

    Progressive R&B Album:
Lucky Daye – Table for Two

    R&B Album:
    Jazmine Sullivan – Heaux Tales

R&B PERFORMANCE: Leave The Door Open – Silk Sonic

TRADITIONAL R&B PERFORMANCE: Fight for You – H.E.R.

R&B SONG: Good Days – SZA

PROGRESSIVE R&B ALBUM: Dinner Party: Dessert – Robert Glasper & Co.

R&B ALBUM: We Are – Jon Batiste

I agree! I feel like Jon’s wins will come in the Jazz categories. I don’t anticipate him walking away with more than (3) Grammy’s at most.

    My picks are:

R&B Performance “Leave The Door Open”
Traditional R&B Song “Fight For You”
R&B Song “Good Days” Vs “Heartbreak Anniversary”
    Progressive R&B Album “New Light”
    R&B Album “Heaux Tales”

We’ll see if Jazmine truly has passion. H.E.R. and Jon Batiste both got into AOTY without a panel. That shows passion.

Now that the monimations have been announced and after his surprise win at last year’s Grammys for Progressive R&B Album, who do you will the Thundercat of the year as far as a left field win?

I have Lucky Daye as the winner, but you cannot underestimate Robert Glasper.

Alicia Keyes was snubbed? I cannot believe she is not the Grammy darling anymore.

Meanwhile the overrated and bland SheMeHer gets multiple nomination #YAWN

I would definitely look out for Robert Glasper, not too sure about Lucky Daye right now. What makes you choose him as the frontrunner? Also, who do you have winning in the R&B field, if you don’t mind me asking?
