2022 Music Critics Year End Lists Aggregate

Since we are nearing the end of the year, we are seeing a lot of music critics and music publications, release their best of 2022 albums and songs lists. In this thread I’m going to publish some of the best of 2022 music lists, which might otherwise clutter up the awards threads.

I’m going to be focusing on the following aggregate lists:

AOTY (albumoftheyear.org)

Plus we often get a list from Metacritic and there is also acclaimedmusic.net who often update later, but often have a wider selection of international publications included in their aggregate lists.

If your favourite artists released an acclaimed album in 2022, we might see them here.

This is the current summary from albumoftheyear.org as of 30-Nov-2022, with 12 album lists counted so far.

Kendrick Lamar has came out on top of these year end lists before, perhaps he can do it again.

I’m hoping to see Renaissance top Pitchfork’s year end albums list imo. They are yet to give an album by Beyoncé the top spot.

Surprised Nas Kings Disease 3 isn’t on some of these lists. Its the highest acclaimed rap album of the year on Metacritic

Why is RENNAISANCE topping the year end list causing you to vomit? Is it because 30 was so mediocre that a  newbie album by Olivia Rodrigo was even outranking 30 in last year’s list ? 🤣😂😁
