If the AMAs aren’t truly fan voted, then why are we always subjected to a Taylor Swift sweep every award show? I feel like there are way too many fan voted shows out there. If these awards want to compete with the Grammys, then they need to have some industry input. For some reason, they think fan involvement means more viewers. Obviously, not the case.

it’s a cute fan voted award show where some stars occasionally attend. It’s been a dying award show for years now. I doubt any artist cares for actually winning them. Taylor attends or sends a zoom because she knows her fans vote hard for them.

Congratulations 12 Time Grammy Winner Taylor Swift!

I would really like them to change the format of mass Twitter votes but I feel they wouldn’t dare if there is a backlash from “those fandoms” (armys, swifties, barbz, etc. What I do see feasible and what I would like them to do is to put stronger parameters in the selection of nominees especially on the topic of musical genres because EWWWW what are the winners of Best Country, R&B and Latin albums doing competing for Best Pop Album? I hate that, I wish they would stop making Pop the tally for other genres of music, especially in the Best Group category.

Also, it was understandable that Red TV would compete in the Grammys due to losing in their time. But here she had won ALL OF HER CATEGORIES IN 2013.

In a perfect world where these rules apply, Taylor would have fallen into the Country field and Harry’s House would have won Pop Album while Adele would have triumphed with Female Pop.

Another thing I hate is the fuzzy eligibility dates that make several nominees and winners look out of date (Beggin, Industry Baby, Esence).

The AMAs would have been perfect if….

    1. They limit artists to compete within a single genre (unless they are different songs). Just like we do with the GDMAs
    2. They respect the eligibility dates (assuming they will be rescheduled to spring of the following year the ideal range should be November 2022-October 2023, although it could start from October 2022 just for this year).
    3. Have some non-democratic categories to keep up the anticipation and interest. I really have no idea what they would be but they might as well do the IHeart Radio thing where they pick winners by genre for Album of the Year.
    4. They find incentives for more artists to participate in the show. If we had Beyonce at the ceremony the hype would have been properly split between her and Taylor. I also find it odd that the Afrobeat guest stars didn’t even show up and yet their wins were announced. They should take better advantage of the global genres like the VMAs did last year.

Now… How do I get these suggestions to them?

    Hi.

I think the top 3 categories should be industry picks and the rest should be fan voted. I don’t know why people want to punish artists with a large fan base. Like in what world is having a large fanbase that will religiously vote for you a bad thing? It’s not Taylor, BTS and Harry Style’s fault that other artists couldn’t cultivate the same ravenous fanbase. Time for everyone else to pull up their socks if they want awards.

Taylor Swift did not deserve to be nominated in the both the Country Album category and the Pop Album category. That album was nominated in 2013. When has a re-release ever been nominated prior to Red TV? The AMAs nominated her because they’re obsessed with her. Giving her undeserved nominations…I hope things change with the nominations and the ways of voting especially with an account that spams like @TaylorNation13 on Twitter. As for BTS, there’s no beating K-Pop artists in fan voted awards. I’m surprised BTS would lose to Bieber and Rosalia at the MTV Awards whether it’s USA or Europe.

It’s still not Taylor’s fault that millions of people are obsessed with her music nor is it Taylor’s fault that other fandoms are so lazy or indifferent to vote.

Lol might as well change the name of this thread to 2024 Taylor Swift Jobless Haters cause why is like 90% of the posters here hating on Taylor? It’s not her fault she’s so successful and popular she’s constantly sweeping all these fan-voted awards (AMA, EMA, VMA, PCA, KCA). Even if they change the voting system, popular artists like Harry, BTS and Taylor will still win due to their loyal fanbases. Only way for you Taylor haters to steer clear of Taylor sweeping these fan-voted awards is you guys writing a written appeal to these fan-voted awards to become industry-voted awards, making them Grammy precursors in the same manner as SAG, BAFTA, Golden Globes, and Critics Choice. But for now all you can do is seethe and watch Taylor as she sweeps these fan-voted awards. Also, the 2024 AMA being canceled is not yet 100% confirmed as they are still considering changing the broadcast date or finding the right broadcast partner.

I feel like if they really are bothered by the sweeps they should promote other fandoms to participate more. Look for the GDMAs I campaigned for Dua Lipa on other networks and we ended up kicking Taylor in Best Collaboration. Do the same but with SZA, Miley or any artist you support.

My issue isn’t the sweeps, it’s how unfair and calculated a fan account is. There is no way in hell that Taylor Swift sweeps the AMAs if it wasn’t for @TaylorNation13 spamming people to vote for Taylor and retweeting votes from fans. Whoever is running that account did this almost every single day until voting closed other certain fan-voted award shows. It’s clear that this happened because of her losing awards in 2015 and 2016. You don’t think in order to not looking desperate that she told whoever is running @TaylorNation13 to make sure that fans are reminded each day to vote for her in public voting award shows so she doesn’t come home empty handed? She lost Artist of the Year to One Direction and BTS but didn’t show up…I wonder why? She’ll only come if she’s nominated for the top award and wins. The other pop artists don’t use their official fan accounts and spam like @TaylorNation13 does. If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t be complaining about this heavily. If Swift sweeps without the spam of @TaylorNation13, then she sweeps. No complaints other than the fact that a certain artist most likely deserved it more. She’ll probably win Top Artist at the Billboard Music Awards. It is what it is. I have no problem with fandoms voting hard and making sure that their fave wins, but the way certain artists do it…it disgusts me.

Lol. You said that only Taylor has this twitter account dedicated to fan voting when one quick twitter search will tell you that every other artist also has this twitter thing, such as Ariana Grande (@TeamAriana), Adele (@AdeleAccess), Harry Styles (@TheHarryNews), and their posts also tell their followers to vote for their respective artist in these vote-based award shows. But these other artists (Ariana, Adele, Beyonce, etc.) do not win these vote-based award shows cause their stan numbers are relatively low compared to Taylor’s. So you are straight up lying just to prove a pointless point.

That user is in DENIAL that Taylor has a far bigger fanbase than those artists. Only Harry can compete.
