Not even remotely similar. Jon Batisite didn’t even win in the R&B field last year. He had a ton of support from elsewhere.

Exactly the same thing as Beyonce. She got 3 nominations in R&B categories with album tracks from a dance album. R&B voters will support her before MJB.

MJB is literally going to win in the R&B field over Beyoncé. She’s going to take away votes from her whether you want to admit it or not. It’s not the same as Jon – he lost in the R&B field to artists that weren’t nominated in AOTY.

They’re going to go the basic route.

Adele will sweep the generals and Bey will get the other categories like always.

It’s very clear with the amount of random nominations they gave Bey, they’re going to try and makeup for yet another AOTY loss with a bunch of smaller categories (dance recording?????).

I could also see Adele getting SOTY and ROTY, Bad Bunny getting AOTY, and Beyonce getting the other categories she’s nominated for.

This year just feels so rigged…

He did lose to H.E.R. in Traditional R&B, but you are right. Having MJB and Kendrick Lamar in this lineup is not good for Beyoncé.

I could see Mary J Blige winning over Beyoncé only in Best Traditional R&B Performance.

MJB will likely win R&B Performance with Paak too.

Have to ponder this one. I only see Adele, Beyonce, Brandi and maybe Harry having any real shot. Kendrick has the sentiment but I’m not buying much at all he factors except for his obligatory Rap support.

I’ll wait more like I did last year because the forums were too flustered with Gaga, Olivia, and Billie as some sort of misguided freight trains and GD is way too reactionary with things like this.

Country and Rock/Alternative votes are important in these categories. Country might go with Brandi Carlile but Rock/Alternative didn’t got a representation except for Wet Leg and Maneskin in BNA.

I got you stuck in the realness

Chances keeping in mind narrative, acclaim and votesplitting:

Tier 1 Adele and Brandi (my choice)

    Tier 2 Beyonce and Harry

Tier 3 Kendrick and Bad Bunny

    Tier 4 Mary and ABBA

    Tier 5 Lizzo and Coldplay

    Huns, it’s
Obvious Adele is going to sweep like the Emmys. Industry loves her.

    This picture speaks for itself.

Beyoncé is not winning this, if Adele had this already in her bag, the Mary J Blige nomination who is gonna steal votes from Beyoncé made it even more easy for her.

Even though I honestly think its Beyonce turn to win Album of the year. I honestly feel like they are still going to give it to 30 and give Beyonce best Dance/Electric album and sweep the R&B categories. 😠

Bad Bunny is low-key tempting, he has Latin Field AND Pop Field support, also previous nominee in the Rap Field.
