I think Adele will lose to Harry in BPVA especially with the trend of recent winners. That’s just my opinion though. I have Adele going 5/7. So just losing BPVA and Best Music Video.

Honey, goddess Adele is coming to the Grammys to snatch her well deserved Album of the Year and other 5-6 awards. Girls, get ready!

My issue is this. Is the Grammy tryna tell us u need to make ballads whinny music constantly to win the top prices. Every Artist need evolution different sound. Yes even doe we can say crap bout Taylor lack of stage presence and vocals those three albums all different sounds. If Adele expand her sound I would not have no issues but 21,25,30 sound style wise all the same.

I’m pretty sure Adele is not making music just to win Grammys. So, if the Grammys keep rewarding her for the “same material,” then that’s an issue with the Grammys, not Adele. She’s allowed to make whatever music she wants, as she has writing credits on all of her music, except the covers. And aside from the ballads on 25 and 30, they aren’t really the same. Crazy how reviews are constantly brought up here, but not all of the reviews that acknowledge the differences between 25 and 30.

Yes u are 100 right. We can’t blame Adele it’s the Grammy voters. We just need to accept the fact the industry love this woman Adele won 5 emmys for simple show. Beyoncé had to put suki suki and remy down for 6 months for homecoming to loose it all to carpool of all people. We have to except it Adele is just that girl.

Beyoncé still has a good chance at AOTY. I’m sure there are voters who are still aware of the 25 vs Lemonade thing, and Beyoncé is praised to high levels these days, so perhaps her status now is way higher than it was six years ago. I still contend that there are snobs that vote against albums without major instrumentation OR that have a lot of people credited on it. Mary and Kendrick are Beyoncé’s biggest detriments, though. Kendrick is arguably just as overdue, as he has just as many AOTY nominations as Beyoncé does (actually more), and Mary is at a point of her career where she is considered “legendary.” Lizzo being in the mix could cause an issue as well.

30 is a much better album than its competitors in BPVA. I hope she wins for the third time.

This. BPVA out of her nominations is the the one she deserves the most and tbh I will be bored if she only wins for EOM when the whole body of work is much better.

billboard just posted this backhanded ass article lmao. renaissance has enough acclaim to warrant an aoty win without it being sympathy, although i do agree she may get a few “sympathy” votes after 25 vs lemonade

I believe it’s Beyoncé turn to win AOTY.

Adele and Brandi may even divide votes.

Honey, do NOT worry.  Adele is winning Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Album for a third time.

Tbh I never thought of Lizzo she does have some rnb votes. It looks very uphill battle. Guess we will find out in a week time. I still think Beyoncé should perform. Adele is taking him record and song that is all but guarantee. Aoty is the one am having hard time predicting. You guys forget Brandie cairle is very dangerous

    1. Renaissance

She’s about to become the most awarded person in Grammy’s history, she’s well past overdue to win AOTY, and she released an extremely well-received, well-crafted, critical and commercial smash album over 20 years into her career. They’ve slighted her in the past, but this just feels like the time for Beyoncé to finally take it home; If she doesn’t, it really will be a question of what more does she have to do? I struggle to see it going any other way.

    2. 30

Adele needed to be undeniable in order to take this, and I just don’t see that being the case. Taylor won her 3rd AOTY because folklore was undeniable, a career-defining magnum opus. (Not to mention, up against much weaker competition.) There’s no narrative to Adele winning this for an album that failed to make a splash, anchored by a lead single that is significantly less memorable than any of her more organic hits. If Beyoncé wasn’t in this category, I’d say Adele takes it just by nature of being Adele, but I don’t think that’s going to carry her through this time. (The argument of 25 vs. Lemonade doesn’t hold up because 25 was a much different situation than 30.)

    3. In These Silent Days

I don’t see this being a year where commercially successful megastars are upset by an industry act, but if it is, this is Brandi’s to lose. She clearly has credibility amongst her peers, and has only become more high profile after stepping into her role as Joni Mitchell’s handler. I think both Beyoncé and Adele have enough passion behind them that one of them will take it, but this wouldn’t be the craziest win.

It’s really just between these 3 for me. ABBA and Mary J. Blige were namecheck nominations, Kendrick has lost for much bigger/better albums against weaker competition, Bad Bunny won’t rally enough support from the larger voting body to win it all, and Lizzo/Coldplay/Harry are just happy to be there.

I don’t think Adele has to be undeniable or have a narrative in order to win a Grammy. Her track record & respect within the industry speaks for itself. She’s never had to be thirsty. Voters simply like her.

The most awarded and celebrated artist of her generation is not going to get ‘sympathy’ votes. If Bey wins, it’s because the voters liked her album.
