Sure they may but GENERALLY it is true. If Adele is truly sweeping the GF, they won’t show pop vocal album unless she lost it.

It’s a completely different case when the AOTY winner is not a Pop album or not an A-lister. Bruno Mars has been the only recent example of a non-Pop AOTY winner who didn’t have their field win televised. Taylor & Jon lost so they don’t count.

Their field win is televised because producers may not be 100% sure that they won AOTY beforehand. Fine, they do know lmao, but the audience needs to be familiar with the “””obscure””” artist like Beck or Kacey Musgraves when they win AOTY.

    Good point

I hope Adele shows up and opens the show with “To Be Loved” and then they air Pop Solo afterwards where she’s ”shocked” that she wins.

That would be perfect but if she performs it would be Easy on Me.

I don’t think she has performed To Be Loved live yet

Most Swifties on GD are giving Adele bad energy. “Evidence” from a different community isn’t exactly relevant to that hypothesis.

Goldderby is just a fragment of fandom, it’s not as if other stans here aren’t just as problematic. I’ve also seen positive reactions to the interactions between SZA and Taylor over the Billboard charts. Honestly I’m more supportive of SOS despite being a swiftie. I like Midnights but it’s an easily beatable album.

    Hi.

It’s cute that you think the producers don’t know what’s in those envelopes 😭😭. They absolutely know the day before who won what why they usually change what goes on the main ceremony. We’ve had instances of them switching categories on the program on the day of for that very reason.

not sure if this was already talked about, but i found this Variety article. Voters anonymously saying who they voted for. https://t.co/8II8NwL2Wq.

A few of these statements are hilarious, while others have me thinking that they need their memberships revoked LOL.

A voter saying that Omar Apollo represents the Latin community while he cancels the tour in Latin America to open SZA tour in the United States. No one in Latin America has a connection with him. Variety as always being unpleasant

after reading the whole article i can say:
    – voters do not know what tf they are voting for.
    – the veterans (aka that man on his 70s) don’t listen outside of the music of their time and liking and still hold strong on those biases (ex: not voting for Harry bc of his boyband past)
    – the narrative against bey and adele is “they have too many awards”
    – they admit to not listen to the music that’s nominated

in conclusion, sunday will be and amazing disastrous evening. hold tight!

All of these sound so unprofessional and mean spirited. Why did so many of them insist on basically insulting the artists? Grammy execs really need to think about the kind of values their voters are voting with.

no because admitting publicly that the reason why you did not vote for a certain artist is “because of their boyband past”, or “because they always win” is just embarrassing.
if the music is GOOD then it deserves to be rewarded, no matter the artist.
also, the RA might need to start thinking of cancelling memberships of voters from a certain age. Of course a 70-years old man will be biased against the new pop stars.

The Grammys have always claimed to award the excellence of music, yet their voters don’t even CARE to listen to 3 mins tracks to make a solid decision. Harvey Mason Jr. I am under your bed 💀

Honey, some of you are complete morons.  There are many examples of artists winning televised genre categories (Adele, Beck, Dixie Chicks, Norah Jones, OutKast, Taylor [BARF!] Swift, U2) and winning the General Field in the same night.

The AOTY is shaping up to be a Beyonce vs Brandi duel. Brandi is gonna do a Batiste and surprise everyone.

I literally said they do know the winners beforehand.

That’s why GF winners don’t get 4 speeches anymore unless they win BNA as well.
