The AOTY is shaping up to be a Beyonce vs Brandi duel. Brandi is gonna do a Batiste and surprise everyone.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 4, 2023 at 4:18 am #1205283359All of these sound so unprofessional and mean spirited. Why did so many of them insist on basically insulting the artists? Grammy execs really need to think about the kind of values their voters are voting with.
When you talk to reporters it really doesn’t matter if you said 5 mins worth or good stuff and only 1 bad about something it is the 1 bad that gets repeated. Always happens that way especially if you know it’s going to get a rise out of fans/people.

And before you ask, yes I have been interviewed a few times about shows (I just got asked to stage manage another one, lol) and so I try to just either not talk to them or just to not give any memorable quotes if I am asked to talk to them.February 4, 2023 at 5:15 am #1205283373If Beyonce doesn’t win Album of The Year, I personally think she should never submit her music anymore to the Grammys. They have done her dirty for far too long in the main categories.

These are all pre 2021. The movement of categories from pre show to main category accordingly to the attendees happened after Ben Winston took over. In 2021 R&B performance was listed in the pre show but they changed it last minute to the main show.
He’s literally one of the worst things to happen to the Grammys. The seating and the stage is sooo bad compared to 2020 and the ones before! This intimate setup seems soo boring and they need to bring the previous seating style back and the one where they show the faces of all the nominees on the screen while announcing the winners.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 4, 2023 at 5:44 am #1205283398So yeah I do think we should watch out for the categories that are announced in pre show and the ones that got moved to the main one.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 4, 2023 at 5:56 am #1205283403no because admitting publicly that the reason why you did not vote for a certain artist is “because of their boyband past”, or “because they always win” is just embarrassing. if the music is GOOD then it deserves to be rewarded, no matter the artist. also, the RA might need to start thinking of cancelling memberships of voters from a certain age. Of course a 70-years old man will be biased against the new pop stars. The Grammys have always claimed to award the excellence of music, yet their voters don’t even CARE to listen to 3 mins tracks to make a solid decision. Harvey Mason Jr. I am under your bed
Honestly, I do believe that we need to start a strong campaign against these cases. The “professional” voting system is a fraud and the academy has to reconsider it.

I don’t know, I do like the arrangement of tables. I find the arrangement of chairs overloaded and heavy to look at. I can’t tell you how much I struggle with speech videos to find the nominees unless they are in the front row or have very distinctive outfits (Ariana and Billie 2020). The tables have a sophisticated touch allowing for more off-screen interactions. But I do want the camera shots back when the winners are announced.

February 4, 2023 at 6:13 am #1205283414I like the tables better as well. The angles are better and the artists can interact more.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 4, 2023 at 6:25 am #1205283426I really want the camera shots back, I hate how we can’t see the instant reaction to wins.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 4, 2023 at 6:40 am #1205283448I’m pretty positive Beyoncé will become the most awarded artist ever tomorrow, but do you think they’ll want to give her the record-breaking one live? Because in that case, she cannot win more than 3 awards in the pre-telecast.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 4, 2023 at 7:23 am #1205283474i think Beyoncé will win best dance album, best r&b performance and best r&b song in the pre-telecast and then AOTY in the main ceremony presented by Viola Davis (maybe?) where they announce that she became the most awarded artist ever

They’re not going to air the dance categories. We’ll know if she wins in the GF if none of her R&B categories get aired.
