Variety put ‘Adele: One Night Only’ at #5 in the category that made her EGO.

Oh I see. I guess they are not Adele fans lol

Technically it’s her 5th AOTY nomination, since she was nominated for The Fame Monster…

    Absolutely not

If someone has posted this previously, my apologies, I didn’t read through all 93 pages of the forum. I truly believe in synchronicities via numerology, it may sound out there but it makes sense, at least for me. 😊 Beyonce was born on the 4th Renaissance is listed as 4th on the AOTY ballot as artists are listed in alphabetical order. If Beyonce were to win AOTY she would be only4th Black female artist in Grammy history to achieve the top prize. I’ve read in the past where she said 4 was her favorite number. Sunday’s date adds up to 4 at root. Renaissance is her 4th AOTY nomination, following I Am…, Beyonce and Lemonade. I’m almost certain she’s going to win AOTY.

me last year trying to convince people that planet her is winning album of the year

I´m always a mess when it comes to the Grammy winners, because we always believe that they’re gonna go in certain direction and then they completely go in a different way.

Right now , these are my prediction

    AOTY: 30 – Adele
    Second: Renaissance – Beyoncé
Dark Horse: In These Silent Days – Brandi Carlile/Harry’s House – Harry Styles
Like I said before, I’m not gonna make the same mistake as the last time. I believe that Adele is losing AOTY when I see it. She’s definitely vulnerable this year, and of course Beyoncé is right there, but I think that voters could go in a different way and decide to not reward any of them and go with Brandi, Harry or even Mary J.

ROTY: As It Was – Harry Styles
Second: Easy on Me – Adele
Dark horse: The Heart Part 5 – Kendrick Lamar/About Damn Time – Lizzo
ROTY is between Harry and Adele, I don’t buy Beyoncé winning this category. If and upset does happen, I hope it’s Kendrick or Lizzo.

SOTY: Easy On Me – Adele
Second: All Too Well – Taylor Swift
Dark horse: As It Was – Harry Styles
Back in november when the nominations were announced, I immediately thought: “Adele is winning in a landslide” and I still believe that. Taylor could very well surprise is the voters decide that it’s her time and she probably gonna be more excited to win this one than her three AOTY trophies. Don’t discard Harry Styles, he could very well have a fantastic night.

There will be a lot of meltdowns tomorrow when Adele sweeps those Grammys a la Emmys. Waiting for the racism takes when Beyonce loses Album of the year yet again.

Even if Bey doesn’t win AOTY, she’ll still get 99% of the headlines after being the most awarded artist of all time. And then go on to her sold out stadium world tour.

She’s going down as the most celebrated and greatest entertainer of her time, with or without that AOTY. Let’s make things clear!

Only THREE black women in the HISTORY of the ceremony have ever won AOTY

That means Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Patti Labelle, Gladys Knight, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, Donna Summer, Tina Turner, The Emotions, Sade, Anita Baker, Janet Jackson, Tracy Chapman, Toni Braxton Brandy, Monica, SWV, TLC, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Mary J Blige, Mariah Carey, Missy Elliot, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Janelle Monae and COUNTLESS other supremely talented BLACK women over the course of decades have not won album of the year despite tremendous critical acclaim and mainstream success.

Some of these women, like Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, and Tracy Chapman, have sold upwards of TWENTY MILLION copies of a SINGLE album and didn’t win

Some of those women, like Alicia Keys, Sade, and Erykah Badu, have albums as critically acclaimed or even MORE SO than the lily white women (Adele, Taylor Swift, Alanis Morissette) who HAVE and CONTINUE to win AOTY year after year after year after year after year…

So when those of us who watch artists like Beyonce continue to break records, be showered with extreme critical praise, shift the narrative of popular music, all while moving MILLIONS of cassettes, CDs, Vinyl, Digital, streams, etc. But fail to be competently rewarded by music’s so called “authoritative” awards ceremony, only being relegated year after year after year after year to genre categories in which they have definitively and irrefutably transcended, say that racism plays a part in these snubs, well we’ve got over SIXTY YEARS of evidence, proof, and receipts on which to draw those claims.

A lot of publications seem to be predicting Bey for the win. Maybe she might finally do it.

Mariah had no chance over Alanis that year, and that had nothing to do with race. Jagged Little Pill was bigger and way more acclaimed than Daydream. C’mon now. I get Beyoncé is deserving and should win tomorrow, but let’s not go overboard with the thinkpieces. And Mariah was barely black in 1995.

    3 things to say:

    – Only one “latin” artist has won the AOTY , but nobody wrote a meltdown about it.

-Everyone gives a lot of credit to THAT woman when she just sings the music. She doesn’t write or produce those acclaimed albums, . SHE IS NOT A GOD. STOP

    – After all, the Academy keeps using her as their “wildcard” to say, “How are we racist if a black person is the artist who has won our award the most times? 🥺 ” “How are we racist if a black is the most awarded artist of the night?  🥺 “

the difference is that latin music has only blown up in America within the past 5 years. black artists have been having success since the Grammys began. that’s like saying that it doesn’t make sense that a kpop album has never won aoty..svg” class=”emoji”
