Personally, I voted for The Heart Part V. I personally also like All Too Well (10 minute version) by Taylor Swift, which would be basically awarding her with her best track. However Kendrick with this song is just so divine. A great song through and through.

November 15, 2022 at 11:55 am #1205154126Personally I would vote for Taylor here. ATW (10MV) is a beloved track and would be the perfect song to award her best talent, songwriting.
In terms of actual chances, I’d say Adele, Harry, or Lizzo takes it.

November 15, 2022 at 12:04 pm #1205154173I think if Taylor wins SOTY in her career, it has to be with “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)”. The most important award for her for her most important song.
I love Adele, Harry, Bey, Kendrick & Lizzo as well. Adele is probably the strongest here but I really want to see “The Heart Part 5” get some GF recognition so Kendrick would be my second favorite pick.

Will: Easy On Me/About Damn TimeNovember 15, 2022 at 12:23 pm #1205154291Adele is winning here but I wouldn’t be surprised if Taylor wins. All Too Well 10 MV is a good body of songwriting work, she was so close to win this category several times and she is the moment now. I think her chances are high considering she lost ROTY (I Can’t Breathe situation).
ReplyCopy URLNovember 15, 2022 at 12:34 pm #1205154344The only song that can technically prevent Easy On Me from winning both ROTY/SOTY is a song that isn’t in both categories.
(considering the existence of that 30+ ROTY/SOTY year rule)
This is the same discussion we had with Driver’s License and Leave the Door Open having a possible SOTY/ROTY split (which eventually didn’t happen)
ReplyCopy URLNovember 15, 2022 at 1:11 pm #1205154528Weirdest line-up in the whole. Gayle song, God Did, Bonnie Raitt. Beyonce has more advantage on this one than AOTY one, at least Mary’s not there. Adele will compete the people on AOTY plus Taylor Swift. Kendrick and God Did might split but at least he’s not on Adele’s position. Bonnie Raitt winning would be so random.

November 15, 2022 at 1:13 pm #1205154542I won’t even bother fooling myself with an “ATW” win. It’s giving “Lover”.

ATW is the superior song, but it’s tough to bet against an Adele sweep. However, does the lack of Country representation shore up votes for ATW? Could be close.
The Bonnie Raitt nod is extremely random, but I’m happy to see a stunning song recognized.
