Still think Adele has this one, but As It Was was so massive that it might just take it.
If Adele wins. I hope y’all will finally see that some massive and big songs can bomb severely at the Grammys. There are a tons of examples.

Blinding Lights is the best example. 0 nominations

There are delusional Adele stans here who hates and bashes on every other artist while protecting Adele yet your kind does not care.
You’re just mad because for the first time someone dares criticize Adele whereas before she is untouchable while everyone else is being hated and bashed.
Pip is likely a fat white incel who sleeps in a one bed room apartment. About 99% of his posts is about Adele, and every post about her consists of the same thing – how she makes “whiny ballad music” and “benefits from white privilege,” all the while faux-stanning for a white man with the same privilege. Imagine being a grown ass man this mad and jealous about a woman.

ReplyCopy URLJanuary 27, 2023 at 8:08 am #1205270415She does not need to campaign so overtly because she has been treated like royalty by the old white clubs in the industry due to her safe whiny ballads preferred by white oldies. Adele is the symbol of white privilege in the Grammys sweeping awards twice even Adele herself thinks was undeserved. But let’s not kid ourselves. She’s campaigning. She purposely timed her Vegas residency for the Grammys. Unlike Taylor who is transparent in her desire for the Grammys, Adele’s pretentious. She relies on the old white clubs in the industry to work for her win.
I see you’re a conspiracy theorist.
You actually think a multi-million dollar residency that requires the work of hundreds of people was purposely planned to cater to the Grammys? Give me a break.
It’s not Adele’s fault the old, white people love her. And to ignore the many fans she has who are people of color is… problematic to say the least. She is beloved by all people, really. Not to mention, she sings about her love life no differently from Taylor Swift (she just has the voice to pull it all off). If you really want to talk about white privilege in the industry, Taylor’s your girl.

One Sweet Day too. It was in the middle-end of its chart dominance around the 1996 Grammys. Lost every award it was up against.

Can’t believe I bought your “everybody hates Swift” crocodile tears. Casually making fun of stuffs is funny but transforming into this consistent and intensely spiteful troll is pretty low.
Anyway, I’ve had my fill of puerile posts irrespective of fandom. Best to add me to your ignore list because honestly, I’ve reciprocated in advance.

Apparently The #Grammys production staff is at the show and will be filming! pic.twitter.com/BICeAoeEvO

One Sweet Day got 2 nominations compared to Blinding Lights and After Hours that was completely shut out

What does that even mean? Was Easy On Me not a big song? Lol
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 27, 2023 at 11:12 am #1205270741I mean “As It Was” is obviously bigger, but “Easy on Me” is also big?? Just because it’s not a “Hello” doesn’t mean it was a flop. It’s been a frontrunner since forever.

Isn’t As It Was the biggest song in the lineup? The point is the biggest song could lose ROTY/SOTY despite it’s status commercially. I wasn’t denying that Easy On Me was a big song. Most users were saying As It Was has it in the bag due to the huge status
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 27, 2023 at 9:17 pm #1205271815“One Sweet Day,” “Despacito,” “Old Town Road,” and “Yeah!” are what Cameron is referring to.
I’m convinced one of the double-digit week #1 hits will win – “Easy on Me” or “As It Was.” “As It Was” could probably win something, but it does NOT give me “Grammy sweeper.” I wouldn’t be surprised at a “Truth Hurts”/”Bad Guy” type situation, or a clean sweep from “Easy on Me.” Can’t see a clean sweep for “As It Was.”
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 27, 2023 at 11:32 pm #1205271924As It Was has that post pandemic resonance, whereas Easy On Me is yet another basic break up song, with Adele doing some special pleading: ‘I was just a child…’
No, honey – you were 24 and worth $50m. Hardly an innocent abroad.
