Taylor has remained seated multiple times in the past. SOTY to that version of ATW would be a tragedy, I guess she’s thanking them with her presence after giving her 3 AOTY or something like that.
Your icon is making me cackle. The way she was scammed into flying to LA (at her own expense) with the promise of walking the Grammys read carpet.

You guys are down miserable. ATW would be a great SOTY winner and Taylor is arguably one of the best songwriters in our times. She’s due for this award.
I would be pleased with an Adele win too. EOM screams SOTY.
ReplyCopy URLJust Like That won’t win in a billion years, but despite being the only “non-commercial” nominee, it won’t rank dead last. I actually believe it’s in the top 5. The fact it even managed to sneak into SOTY shows how supportive Americana voters are and how passionate they are about the American Roots music. It’s not just about Brandi Carlile. Otherwise they would’ve scrolled down to You And Me On The Rock in the bottom of the ballot instead of settling to Bonnie Raitt’s song in the middle of the road. Needless to say, she’ll also have support from Country & Rock. Because of that, Adele’s win may not be a thrash of the other nominees. Instead of winning 4-1, she’ll just win 3-1. And much to everyone’s dismay, God Did will likely steal more votes from The Heart Part 5 than we imagine. It’s an Avengers-esque ensemble of name-checks like A Beautiful Noise was last year.

This seems pointless right now but someday there will be another American Roots upset in the General Field. They’ve been doing better than Rock & Country lately. Bonnie Raitt even beat 2013’s AOTY winner Babel in their own field category…

Idk…. I was expecting Harry’s song or Adele’s song. But honestly not Taylor’s. Why? Cause half of this song is old, it was already released in 2012. She just added a bit of new material. I think Grammys are sending message with this – we are not awarding re-recorded and slightly changed old material.
The song which won is worthy imho.
