I’m here for Beyonce getting 7 Grammys this year. Let’s win AOTY, ROTY, SOTY, Dance Album, Dance Recording, R&B Performance and R&B Song. Twitter would burn. Honestly I don’t thing Break My Soul deserves a songwriting award buy let’s have fun.

Wouldn’t that be a shocker but I doubt even Beyoncé will have that much luck. No way that’s gonna happen. They prob gonna give her the urban/rnb awards then tell her to go home lol. The lemonade treatment

Break My Soul is probably her best shot at a general category win since Single Ladies. Black Parade and Formation weren’t it.

Her best shot since Single Ladies was… Savage lmao

I wouldn’t say Savage because Black Parade being thrown in there definitely split her votes .

Savage did have the potential to become a rare Rap GF winner, too bad it split votes with Black Parade.

But Break My Soul is even more accessible than Savage. If she didn’t have competition, people would be predicting a 3/3 Beyoncé sweep in the General Field. It was crafted to be a family friendly bop.

Here’s how I’d rank Beyoncé’s ROTY nominations by likelihood of winning ROTY without taking context into consideration:

    1. Single Ladies/Halo – she didn’t lose ROTY just because of the split submissions, she also lost because of The Black Eyed Peas/Maxwell alternating between ROTY/SOTY
    2. Irreplaceable – this late era single wouldn’t have won in 2008, but it appealed to various demographics. it was a smash
    3. Break My Soul – I’m deadass
    4. Say My Name – Girl group
    5. Crazy In Love – Rap feature
    6. Savage – Rap collaboration
    7. Formation – no explanation needed
    8. Black Parade – no explanation needed plus this wasn’t a hit

Get real!  “Break My Soul” would NOT be a worthy Record of the Year winner.  BARF!

“Break My Soul” didn’t really have any staying power, though. Sure, it was her first solo #1 in years, but it tumbled two weeks after the album dropped. Plus, no video didn’t really keep it atop. I would be fine with a ROTY win since it was one of my most played songs last year. Just can’t see a situation where it wins. I can honestly see it losing all of its nominations, but the album and “Cuff It” winning Grammys.

The thing about Beyoncé is that her songs tend to outlast the charts in terms of longevity & impact. Remember when “Run the World (Girls)” underperformed & ppl dragged her for that? I’d argue it’s one of her signature songs now. “BREAK MY SOUL” could follow a similar trajectory even though it’s arguably a much bigger hit.

This is still As It Was or Easy on Me. Break My Soul needed more sparse competition and About Damn Time is too light to take it.

Eh, the video and iconic images of Beyonce dancing with a huge group of women are what made RTW iconic and memorable. BMS doesn’t have any imagery to keep it remembered.

I don’t think ROTY and SOTY will have different winners, the times they were different were when the ROTY winner was not nominated in SOTY or the other way around.
