Taylor had successfull history before going to pop completely. Kacey musgraves is a complete flop commercially.

One of the reasons why I love Kacey Musgraves is that she doesn’t give a shit about whether her work commercially “flops” or not. This isn’t shade to either because both are great artists nevertheless but one of the differences, I think, between Taylor and Kacey (in terms of commercial) is that Taylor is attracted more towards commercial appeal than Kacey and that’s not a bad thing. This industry is a business at the end of the day but Kacey Musgraves is someone who doesn’t care nor is interested in radio stations picking up her singles or her album staying high on the charts. Her own songs and work speaks for itself.
She’s already well known for being a critical darling so there’s no need for her to attract the commercial appeal in order to get everyones attention. And Honestly, I find that more fascinating than having a #1.

I didn’t disagree to what you said. My point was kacey will not take risk of going to pop as she doesn’t have any commercial appeal.

When did this happen?
December 5, 2020 at 3:06 am #1203895628Bad Bunny is about to have the first Spanish language #1 album on Billboard. If it sustains longevity, it might breakthrough in the GF.
December 5, 2020 at 3:17 am #1203895641I think Dakiti is what stands a chance to break through to ROTY. It’s a global hit and broke through to the US, continuing to rise. It’ll be about time for the Grammy’s to acknowledge that Spanish music is leading the way.
