There’s only 1 album this century that was nominated for AOTY and lost Rap Album to a non-AOTY nominee, it’s Drake’s Views, which lost to Coloring Block.

Donda is nominated for AOTY and it’s the only rap album there, Kanye is UTTERLY winning Rap Album lol.

pop voters really hate folklore & evermore

ummm. no. Evermore wasn’t pop so it wasn’t nominated, same thing with Lil Nas X.

I feel so sick to my stomach that Tyler couldn’t get into AOTY over Kuntye.

I went 6/8 in AOTY, SOTY, and ROTY. Pretty pleased with that. Sad I had Bad Habits in Record instead of Song but oh well. 4/10 in BNA, better than I was expecting. Excited to see the leaderboard y’all!

A mess, like every year. This year seems worse than most though.

    – Fucking love Abba but are they really gonna pretend like that comeback single was one of the best songs of the year? This song is not awful but its nothing compared to their former glory.

    – Jon Batiste and H.E.R. are this year’s black artists that are palatable to old white people voters. H.E.R. is not my cup of tee but at least it sounds modern and she’s talented. This Jon Batiste guy? Just no. Grammy committee needs to stop pushing these cheesy artists.

    – Jon Batiste, Tony Bennet/Gaga, Silk Sonic. It’s not the 50’s or 60’s and if it was, this cheesy old people nostalgia trip music wouldn’t have been good enough back in the day. These corny old voters seriously need to nominate some modern sounding music.

    – Justin Bieber in AOTY and Ed Sheeran in SOTY is pure POP MEDIOCRITY

    – The Politics of Lil Nas X are way more interesting than the music.

    – Nobody listened to Donda more than two times, its a snooze and one of Kanye’s worst albums

    – As always, tons of very established artists in BNA. Like are we really gonna pretend Finneas hasn’t been a superstar releasing solo music for years riding Billie’s wave, and that Glass Animals didn’t have a huge hit with Gooey SEVEN YEARS AGO

-Dance/Electronic field is a fucking mess. Although I am somewhat a fan of Black Coffee, Caribou, Olafur Arnalds and Bonobo. None of those artists released the best electronic album of the year. It’s also interesting that they reverse the trend from most years, and put the more mainstream stuff in the album category and the more serious stuff in the dance recording category this year.

-Happy for Doja Cat, hope she wins everything. Happier Than Ever and Drivers License are also pretty good songs, deserving of their nominations. Peaches is fine if a little fluffy/easy listening. JB’s album was trash though.

-Zero noms for Lana Del Rey FUCK THAT! Chemtrails the song and White Dress were absolutely sublime

The 50s/60s criticism is so accurate lmao. These voters need to give it up.

also I’m glad the Grammys mostly ignored the mess that was Positions. Ariana’s worst, shame it took up a slot in pop vocal.

but it was heavily nominated wasnt it?

I think it was awful too, girl has that voice and does THAT? mmmh

I love how the pop categories always find a way to be a messy. Why can’t they be like the rap ones? They’ll never go with the common sense nominees. They’ll always have 1-2 surprise nominees.

Was anyone expecting Jon Batiste to perform this well? Dude is the most nominated artist lol

The Oscar win must’ve really help him here

I don’t understand why Taylor Swift is an AOTY nominee for Olivia Rodrigo. It is my understanding that Olivia sampled one of Taylor’s songs and that on another gave songwriting credit later for sound similarities, correct? So that would be a sample too. Sampled artists aren’t suppose to get credited for nominations. Unless that Grammy rule has changed?

It could have been much worse IMO. Mostly glad it stayed out of the general field.

I think is better than almost all the other record of the year nominees.

I’m convinced Doja could’ve got something in R&B for “You Right” she could’ve probably took Peaches spot or been a 6th spot. The Weekend blew that over ugh. PLANET HER was a big era for Doja . She had a big lead single and the songs are doing so well on Spotify. Doja was so underestimated on here. It’s clear she can branch out to Pop and Rap voters . Possibly R&B too. She made it with a straight vote 🙂

There’s nothing “cheesy” about Jon Batiste. Like H.E.R., he’s an Oscar winning musician that has a lot of industry credit.

Like I thought, it’s the same ones not satisfied. LMAO
