Rumour has it Adele is dropping music this Friday and the album is coming on November.
ReplyOctober 14, 2019 at 3:47 pm #1203136702None of these speculations are coming from Adele herself or her label. Unless she’s pulling a Beyonce, i’m not expecting anything until it’s announced. All we know is that were getting SOMETHING in the coming months/weeks.

October 14, 2019 at 4:44 pm #1203136748This is the first time I feel Adele will flop. She won’t have the biggest female song of the year. I doubt she’ll be able to surpass 7 Rings 8-week #1 run. She will sell a lot the first week but I don’t think she’ll do well in the following weeks.

I think it will be #1 but won’t break 7 Rings record. There isn’t a lot of hype for her this time around.

A 8 week run is a lot, still Adele stayed 10 weeks with Hello, so I don’t know.

The hype exists, there’s zero confirmation about the comeback and just with the rumours people are talking a lot about her.October 14, 2019 at 7:14 pm #1203136915Yeah I think Ariana will still have the biggest era of the year if Adele releases. It’s hard to top 8 weeks this time.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 14, 2019 at 7:27 pm #1203136929I mean, having two albums in a row certified Diamond is a hell of a benchmark to accomplish again. I don’t think Adele can do it, but we’ll see.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 15, 2019 at 12:48 am #1203137108The new album won’t do better than 25 or 21, obviously. It’s near-impossible in this day and age to ever achieve the numbers 21, or maybe also 25, did.
It’s inevitable that this album will underperform in comparison to 21 or 25.
25 included, because she was riding on the hype of the first comeback since 21.I think if Adele achieves these numbers, the album can be considered a success:
1. Lead single debuts at #1 on the Hot 100 and runs for 5 weeks total at #1.
2. Lead single runs for 15 weeks total within top 10.
3. Album scrapes 1 million in pure sales, 1.2 million in total equivalent units in the first week.
4. Album runs for a total of 5 weeks at #1 on B200.
5. Album sells a total of 5 million pure sales in US, and 10 million pure sales worldwide.Simply put, it’s a bit too much to expect Adele’s lead single and album to stay at #1 for over 10 weeks each, just like 25 did. Or for Adele’s album to achieve 3 million first-week pure sales in the US. It’s just not gonna happen because music sells less and less over the years as the streaming platforms continue to grow. Moreover, artists rarely ever do better than their true peak. Fame is fickle. Even Taylor Swift will probably never do better than 1989 ever again. Taylor’s album sales and Hot 100 success continue to drop since 1989, and that’s natural. Michael Jackson’s album sales had a long-term decreasing trend for every album after Thriller. The same will be true for Adele.

She doesn’t have to. Adele’s one of the handful of artists with multiple diamond albums. Her label should not be trying to break sales records. They should be trying to conquer the streaming world. Her albums have done well on that front, but she has never released her albums to streaming first week.
After all the success Adele has accomplished, her aim should be to try different sounds and have some fun. She’s a mother and she should be much more than the heartbreak girl. I would also like to see Adele collaborate more.

ReplyCopy URLOctober 15, 2019 at 10:24 am #1203137727Why are you guys anticipating Adele to release a project. I know she teased music this year, but she is going through a divorce give her a break. If she flops or doesn’t, let her release an album at her own pace.
