Bruno is obviously a safe choice but we don’t really know how the voters will react about those nominations, who’s gonna steal votes from whom. Melodrama and 24K Magic could cancel each other as 4:44 and DAMN so Gambino wins or 24K Magic steals votes from everyone and win, who’s gonna snatch the country votes? As you see there’s many situations and possible scenarios, I wouldn’t pick anything for sure.

And is also obvious that they did shit when they took 1989 over To Pimp a Butterfly and now they have the opportunity to fix that. And I think DAMN. is good as it precedent just as I think 25 is good as 21, that’s a matter of opinion not a decisive factor for an AOTY victory since the albums were nominated in different years in different situations and nominees.

What if Kendrick Lamar loses AOTY again and his third victim will be Bruno Mars or Lorde? The first victims that Kendrick lost AOTY in the previous Grammys are Daft Punk and Taylor Swift.

Are we all saying 4.44 has no chance at winning this at all? Are we sure we aren’t underestimating JayZ here?

Most nominated act. An album widely regarded as his most honest and introspective. Also, in 2017 he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame plus he’s being honoured as an Industry Icon at the Clive Davis event the day before the show. That might have had an impact on voters.

I think he has a shot.

The most nominated act usually never wins AOTY, at lest in recent ceremonies. The album was far from the most critically acclaimed of the year and has been forgotten. The only impact Beyonce’s husband has made is thanks the amount of cash sent to the voters 2 days before the voting week and scamming the RIAA to make his album platinum in a week when it’s most likely not. I don’t wanna be radical, but it the Grammy’s are giving the award to a rapper, it’s Kendrick. Bino and Hov are not winning this shit. The only threats to Bruno is Lorde’s femaleness and Kendrick’s, well…”political message”

Jay-Z earned his nominations this year. The notion that he paid Grammy voters is completely ridiculous. He’s one of the most iconic and prolific rappers ever and has released several classic albums, but he had never until this year been nominated for AOTY for one of his own albums. He was long overdue, 4:44 is one of his most acclaimed albums yet, and one of the year’s finest in any genre. End of.

This category is going to be the most competitive one of the night. Anyone can take the Grammy there is no real frontrunner.
it’s Possible for Jay and KDot to split the votes which leaves Bruno taking the prize.
Or the underdog Lorde can become that unexpected shock that the Grammy’s love to throw at us since she is the only female nominated this year. But will the Grammys give a female the AOTY for the third consecutive year? that remains to be the question. Then you have Gambino who everyone loves and has become the one to watch with a sweep in the R&B Field and a ROTY nomination in the General field.
We all know Jay-Z is the most nominated this year but Beyonce was last year and she didn’t take the big prize. My bets are own Kendrick Winning and I really want him to take it.We should expect a surprise come Sunday.

I would have said Jay-Z’s chances were high if I didn’t think he will lose most of his categories to Kendrick. But he’s the closest thing to a vet here and has a huge Grammy following, so it could happen. But I don’t want it to happen.

I hope Kendrick is able to overcome vote-splitting and Grammy biases. The Grammys have proven that they love him a lot, so maybe he has a chance, too.

Can’t wait til Sunday (where I will be greatly disappointed lol).

Get real! Jay-Z did NOT deserve an AOTY nom. It’s rather obvious NARAS is doing what it does best – playing makeup. They paid him dust in AOTY when he was at his most worthy. Years later, they’re playing catch-up.
