Or they just love talented people that can actually sing, darling

I’ll be honest, I’m bored by the sweeps. I don’t care if they are talented people, I hate them. Why? Because with the sweeps I realize that the only thing they took into account is the name, maybe the quality of the song and the album influences but in the end it’s a matter of the name and that leaves the other artists at a disadvantage.

What I loved about the 2021 ceremony is that they spread the wealth. Other than the 4 awards Beyoncé took home I felt there were no very significant snubs (other than The Weeknd). I would have hated for Future Nostalgia to not have won anything or for Ariana to be disliked again.

Olivia’s not a lock to win both Pop categories. The performance and album categories more than often split, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there are a bunch of splits in performance. I have “Right on Time” winning there. Olivia takes Pop Album.

21, 25 and Divide achieved this after merging the male and female categories. I don’t think it’s going to be difficult for SOUR considering it’s the biggest female pop album since 1989.

but i have ROT in 2nd too

If TonyGaga win AOTY they will also win ROTY If they lose ROTY, they will also lose AOTY That’s they way I see It, they will win both or lose both, I don’t see a scenario where they win only one and lose the other This also includes MV, I don’t think they can win AOTY and lose MV Worst scenario for Love For Sale is just Traditional Pop Album

I feel like ROTY and AOTY go hand-in-hand when the album and song nominated were powerhouses during the year. That’s not the case with L4S. I think L4S’s chances at winning AOTY are far greater than IGAKOOY’s chances at ROTY.

I disagree. Voters rarely distinguish between the GF categories, and Tony x Gaga reminds me of Robert Plant & Alison Krauss/Ray Charles & Norah Jones. I think either they win both GF categories or they lose both, unless Silk Sonic wins ROTY.

I did consider this but there’s essentially zero precedence for a “Right On Time” win. The only song to win in this category without charting was “Joanne” and that won bc of ASIB/Gaga’s general history in pop.

I think there’s a scenario where americana voters vote in pop and Billie/Olivia split ultimately giving Brandi the win but I’ll stick with Olivia here.

But I think the reason they rarely distinguish between them is because one artist typically has a big album and a big single making it an easy vote for both. L4S has the album narrative, but the single was a non-factor.

As a Gaga stan, I wouldn’t be mad if you were right, it just doesn’t feel like that to me. I will be surprised at ROTY as I feel it’s the duo’s weakest category.

ironically both Robert/Alison & Charles/Jone’s ROTY win were also the only single’s to not chart at all from the line-up, so wouldn’t be surprised if IGAKOOY win’s it

+ I think the general consensus is that voters want to reward Tony, not so much that they have a big album or song. I’d agree with the split more if Love For Sale was quantifiably bigger than I Get A Kick, but since the votes would come from narrative more than success, I think they can take home both.

The only category where a Tony & Gaga win could be considered an upset is Best Music Video. And yet I still think they’re taking it. 5/5 for both of them. 6/6 for Love For Sale.

People are sleeping on Planet Her as a possible upset in PVA. Just saying…

Love For Sale winning would be the biggest bore and disappointment. At least Billie, Doja and Olivia made their mark in 2021. Love For Sale is just a send off for TB.

Congratulations to Grammy Winners: Jazmine Sullivan, Doja Cat, SZA and Olivia Rodrigo!
