Keith Sweat’s album Make It Last Forever should have gotten him some love in R&B Male for 1988.

Also, Tracie Spenser’s album Make the Difference would have been a worthy contender in R&B Female. This album had Love Me, Tender Kisses and This House.

Any Lana Del Rey album and Melodrmama by Lorde oh Melodrama only got 1 nom is truly mind boggling. And the fact that Lana still has yet to get her proper due is sad

Lorde, Melodrama. Well they could’ve at least nominated Melodrama for Pop Vocal and “Green Light” for SOTY.

And Dirty Computer by Janelle Monae. No words.

A Star Is Born soundtrack deserved all round love in the general field.

It got nominated 3x in General Field and almost won 2x. It also won 4 other Grammys. No wat it was snubbed in any way.

Compiling this list made it is completely obvious to me that across all decades, the Grammy’s have overlooked music that is not poppy/accessible, and music that is even slightly outside of the mainstream. Decade after decade they have snubbed masterpieces. This is particularly true for black artists who make music that does not conform to traditional white tastes. I also came to the conclusion that it is very common for the Grammys to award legendary artists decades after their prime to makeup for their mistakes. This gives me hope that maybe someday Lana Del Rey will become a Grammy winner when she is like 50 years old.

Life of Pablo was seriously overlooked. MBDTF and Yeezus are more perfect albums and Pablo is definitely not flawless, but I go back to Pablo as much as any of Kanye’s other albums.
