Folklore deserved it’s win, easily the best album nominated. Happy to see Future Nostalgia nominated but it’s not quite win worthy. Fetch the Bolt Cutters is on par with Folklore and should’ve easily been nominated, even if there’s not one particular nominee I can easily pinpoint to take out.

I remember a few years ago swifties arguing that reputation was going to win AOTY (lol) and I argued that for Taylor to win a third time, she’d need to do what Paul Simon did and make an album quite different to the ones he made before. The album would need to be highly acclaimed as well as having great sales.

She did all those things and deserved the win with Folklore.

Folklore deserved the win and I have nothing bad to say about it. The only AOTY that she won that I will go to my grave protesting is when she beat Kendrick. Nothing like that happened tonight. She had the most acclaimed album, the most impactful album, the album that sold the most, and she campaigned the best by dropping a whole NEW album right when voting started JUST started.

if anything this should be the most uncontroversial AOTY win in the past decade (minus The Weeknd’s complete shutout which is in no way Taylor’s fault)

Women in Music Pt. III A- folklore A- Future Nostalgia B+ Djesse Vol.3 B Black Puma B Chilombo B- Hollywood Bleeding B- Everyday Life N/A Haim takes the win for me with their most emotionally complex album yet. folklore might be a more complete piece of work but it feels like what I’d call an aesthetic assignment, and evermore is a better-written album based on the established style they reached. Future Nostalgia is good pop music, but its concept fell sloppy. Collier and Black Puma are the craftsmen choice they always squeeze in the gf now, neither record interested me apart from a few songs. Post handed in better songs than last time, and no one will convince me to listen to a new Coldplay album. Snubs wise, Fiona Apple still reigns supreme after almost a year, Lucinda Williams, Run the Jewels, Laura Marling, and Bob Dylan to name a few among lesser sins.

im hoping haim get another chance to win soon, they deserve it!

This was a deserved winner. Honestly, the only win from last night that I’m mad about is ROTY(Megan and Bey were ROBBED).
