Objectively not a phenomenal line-up. Gaga or Taylor are my personal picks but I do think Beyoncé deserved a win at some point and this was her best opportunity.

Fearless un-aged recently for me and I’m really looking forward to the re-recording with better vocals and mixing.

    2011, Album of the year

    The nominees:

Arcade Fire – The Suburbs (WINNER)

    Eminem – Recovery

Lady Antebellum – Need You Now

Lady Gaga – The Fame Monster

    Katy Perry – Teenage Dream

The 2011 had again two big pop albums(Teenage Dream, TFM), one big hip-hop album(Recovery), one big country album (Need You Now) and one rock album(Suburbs).  Arcade Fire won AOTY.

Honey, albums by Monica, Sade, and Usher were robbed in 2011.

Eminem + 3rd Album of the Year nomination = BARF!

Katy Perry + Album of the Year nomination = BARF!

Lady Gaga + 2nd Album of the Year nomination = BARF!

As much as I appreciate The Suburbs…. I would’ve probably given it to Recovery or The Fame Monster.

The Suburbs was easily the best album and probably the best AOTY winner of the last decade. I still listen to it on a semi regular basis, while I don’t really listen to the others.

Get real!  Lady Gaga was NOT robbed.  The Fame Monster is trash.  Arcade Fire deserved their win.

Nice winner, but I’d give it to Gaga. Her best album… and shot at winning AOTY.

what a shitty overall lineup. Yuck!

Out of those albums i’d have given it to Gaga. I’m glad this was the final year that Eminem was getting AOTY nominations just for being the great white hope. That Arcade Fire album is wildly overrated at least Gaga’s has stood the test of time.

    The Suburbs A-
    The Fame Monster A-
    Recovery B+
    Teenage Dream B
    Need You Now C-

I find The Suburbs weaker than Arcade Fire’s previous records, but it’s still an excellent record and deserved the win easily. Gaga’s follow-up doesn’t contain the multitudes of her persona quite as well as her better efforts, but the amount of good songs in its limited length makes up for it. Lady Antebellum’s spot belonged to Miranda Lambert.
