One of the most deserved AOTY winners of all time.

The Fame Monster hands down. The Suburbs is a great listen but TFM left an impact on pop music and it’d arguably Gaga’s best project. Bad Romance, Telephone, Speechless, Monster, Dance in the Dark… classics.

    1. The Fame Monster
    2. The Suburbs
    3. Teenage Dream
    4. Recovery
    5. Need You Now

As far as how it finished, my guess is
    1. The Suburbs
    2. Recovery
    3. The Fame Monster
    4. Need You Now
    5. Teenage Dream

The Fame Monster gets my vote.

Had voting happened now, Lady A would’ve swept the entire GF. Including AOTY. Voters are THAT lazy.

Ppl drag Katy Perry but TD deserved its AOTY nomination.

Can we also talk about how Gaga was robbed of nominations for Record and Song Of The Year.

Nominating B.O.B over Gaga was insulting.

Keep dreaming!  Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream did NOT deserve an Album of the Year nomination.  YUCK!

TD is one of the essential Pop albums of the 2010’s. Say what you want about Katy Perry, but this was a defining era in music. 5-6 #1’s from 1 album is no fluke. It had impact & sustained longevity.

    2. The Suburbs
    3. Recovery
    4. Teenage Dream
    5. Need You Now

My vote would’ve been for The Fame Monster but I don’t mind with The Suburbs winning. Probably the best AOTY-winning album last decade.

I think The Suburbs was an amazing pick by the recording academy and it was one of the few years they got it right.

The win seriously put indie rock music back on the map for voters to finally take it seriously.

The Suburbs 200% deserved this win. It made indie rock popular again and was one of the albums that helped me get into it. It’s the band’s second-best work behind only their debut and one of the best records of that decade. Gaga’s album is her best and contains some of the best pop songs of its decade, but I just prefer the Arcade Fire album. As for the other nominees, meh. Need You Now is just a generic country album, Recovery is one of Eminem’s weakest overall albums and no Katy Perry album should even be CONSIDERED for this category. She’s a singles artist only.

Exactly. They nominated a guy who thinks the Earth is flat over one of the best pop songs of the 2010s from one of its defining artists.

The Suburbs is such a fun album describing the actual feeling of living in The Suburbs. The highs, the lows, past and present. Work, school. Uniformity and uniqueness. I’m such in awe of what it accomplished. This is coming from a Lady Gaga stan back 2010 (Alejandro is her best song).

    2012, Album of the year

    The nominees:

    Adele – 21 (WINNER)

    Foo Fighters – Wasting Light

Lady Gaga – Born This Way

Brunos Mars –  Doo Wops and the Hooligans

    Rihanna – LOUD

The 2012 took place after the Adele phenomenon, 21 took over the charts. 21 is one of the best-selling albums of all-time and by Grammys night, it was even more evident there was no competition for Adele. As expected, Adele swept  AOTY, SOTY and ROTY. She had previously won BNA, so her collection of Gf Grammys was complete. Lady Gaga got her 3rd AOTY nom, the most recent of her career. Rihanna after many years of presence got into AOTY. Bruno Mars and Foo Fighters completed the top 5. A very pop based line-up, which is reflection of 2011 as a year.

Adele with her Grammys, 21 is the best-selling album by a UK artist this century in USA.  It has charted for 503 weeks on Billboard 200 so far.

Nicki Minaj really made a big impression with her 2012 Grammys perfomance, an impression that according to some banned her from perfoming ever again.

    Rihanna and Katy Perry

    Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett

    Bruno Mars
