I actually like 3 albums here, one of the better line ups. Again another time where a very good album won but a better album was there (actually my favorite Kendrick Album)

    Red A
    good kid, m.A.A.d city A-
    Random Access Memory B+
    The Heist B-
    The Blessed Unrest B-

I wonder if after the overtly alternative lineup of 2013 the academy tried taking corrective measures, and Modern Vampires of the City, which is my favorite album of the last decade, became a casualty. Red isn’t a perfect record, but it remains to date the best showcase of Swift’s emotional range. Same Trailer Different Park deserves a nod here, but for an album as risque as it is, the recognition it got is already impressive. RAM is sort of the polar opposite of The END for me, musically just as complicated, technically just as accomplished, but about as fun as watching paint dry.

RED should have won, I listened to it lately and it has very good lyrics, there are a lot of things going there, but it is transition from country to pop for Taylor.

Taylor or kendrick should’ve won. But Daft punk were good winners too.

Kendrick Lamar should’ve won and swept the entire Rap Field.

Macklemore’s music is so corny. 😂

    • I love Red, it’s my favorite Taylor album, but I’m not mad that she lost Country Album and AOTY. If there were 8 slots in AOTY in 2014, Same Trailer Different Park would’ve been nominated as well.
    • I am more upset about Speak Now losing because it lost to a mediocre album by the racist Lady AntiBLM.
    • The only category which I did think she deserved to win was Country Solo Performance with Begin Again.

    • I also didn’t mind Random Access Memories’ AOTY. As much as I love Kendrick & Taylor, Daft Punk were at the top of their game and their album reunited so many legends…

    • The one artist who was truly robbed was Kendrick. He should’ve won all 4 Rap categories + BNA.

Get real!  Justin Timberlake was NOT robbed of another Album of the Year nomination.  The 20/20 Experience is a pile of shit.  YUCK!

I’m still not sure how 1000s of people thought Babel was the best album there when it was literally the worst… Frank absolutely was robbed.

And RAM was a breath of fresh air as a winner, even though I would’ve voted Kendrick or Taylor.

2014 was a messy year. Kendrick and Taylor should’ve been the obvious picks from that lineup. Also Justin Timberlake should’ve been nominated.

Kendrick probably should have taken it as his album is already a landmark in the history of rap music. I do love Random Access Memories a lot and Daft Punk were certainly due for recognition, so I get why he lost. Taylor Swift’s album is also great and I totally would have understood why had she won. The other two nominees, not so much. I never liked Macklemore as a rapper. Outside of “Same Love”, I’ve always found his music extremely corny. How he beat Kendrick for rap album I’ll never know. Sara Bareilles’ inclusion here is one of many “WTF” Grammy moments.

Also, Vampire Weekend were robbed of a nomination.

If Red won, 1989 wouldn’t exist. Taylor said losing Album of the Year was motivation to create her next era. And it paid off 🙂
