the artists that usually go on the voice and these other talent shows are celebrities who have faded away trying to get some relevancy, strange that she’d join now considering she is still incredibly popular. It’s a great move by NBC and The Voice though, she’ll definitely increase ratings.

Miley Cyrus joined The Voice in September 2016, she was coming off her huge Bangerz Era in 2013-2014. Ariana is still trendy, but once she hits 30, she will lose big portion of her audience(young teen girls). This may be a chance for a change of sound to more adult contemporary music, she needs to change before she is swept away in the elephant graveyard Taylor Swift described about pop stars hitting 35. Also, pop stars doing these gigs are hurt more than helping their careers as experience has shown. It could also hurt her career, we will see.

This is awesome. I see her having a similar run to Miley’s (1-2 seasons). I feel like many high profile acts will start joining more reality competition singing shows. Artists can’t tour right now, so it’s easy money for them. Ariana might be the most famous and high profile act to join this Judge’s panel.

I think out of the big names who have been judges at singing competition she’s probably the biggest at the time of being a judge. Others like Britney and Mariah did it after they started loosing relevance.

yep. Christina, Brit, Mariah were past their prime. Legends and respected artists yes, but Ari is still at the height of her career!
