I feel there is little hype in comparison to when Thank You Next album was released, also only releasing 1 single before the album will luckily kill the possibility to have another #1 from this era.

“luckily” lol why do you want her to fail so bad…
ReplyCopy URLOctober 27, 2020 at 8:28 am #1203805125there is barely any hype for this album. tun was an event and everyone was waiting to hear the album but positions has little to no hype, only her fans are excited about it at this point. The lead single is struggling to go number 1 even with the points at an all time low and is competing with an album track from a country artist, the chance of a second #1 from this era is slim to none.
1. The lead single isn’t that much of a departure from her sound on TUN and Sweetner.
2. This seems like it was a surprise release. Not many artists can pull a surprise release. Only Beyoncé, Taylor and Drake can get away with unveiling an album like that. Even Adele if she were to do it.
3. The lead single just isn’t very identifiable with the general public at the moment. We are in the middle of an election.

October 27, 2020 at 8:36 am #1203805155I wonder why she decided to a rollout like this – only one pre-album single, album released during election week etc. Not sure if her team thinks TUN’s hype will carry on into this era, or if they’re just doing a chill release (which fits the album’s vibe.)

This sounds like salt.

I hear from all the people that heard it that it is a samey album. In 5 years, we wont be able to tell if this song was from TUN or Positions. I fear this is all her managers doing, just like he put Justin to release another album so fast. He manipulates them like cash machines as they are still young, until he can get the very last penny out of them and it shows.

not a great release date

Outside of diehard fans, absolutely no one knows what single is from what album. This doesn’t just apply with Ariana.
BTW, I’m quite curious to see why you’re no longer rooting for an Adele release. Is it because you now realize there’s no chance she’s dropping on the same day as Ariana?

October 27, 2020 at 9:01 am #1203805223I fear Ariana is falling into the cycle of releasing albums too close together. It worked for the turnaround between Sweetener and TUN, but this timing is weird. I don’t get releasing around the election or having the single & album released one week apart. I mean this in the nicest way but she needs to disappear for a while and take her time crafting something new. I’m bored by the new stuff & it feels half-baked.

I support Ariana, i streamed the song 20 times and I wish her the best. But I have to be honest, I am more excited to hear the musical direction of Adele, as most people.

You just said she luckily wouldn’t get a #1. (Which I doubt BTW)
And again, it is bizarre that the second Adele reveals she’s not dropping on the same day as Ariana, you stop caring about it.ReplyCopy URLJohnny Depp is a wifebeater.

I am a big Adele fan, she said the album is not finished and that’s why I am less enthusiastic.
