Jack Garratt stormed to victory in the BBC’s Sound Of 2016 poll earlier this year.

Now, we are just days away from the shortlisted acts being revealed for the Sound Of 2017, with the race looking to be a much tighter fare.

We find out the shortlist Monday morning (UK time from 10am onwards) on Clara Amfo’s BBC Radio 1 show.

I was under the impression that Rag’N’Bone Man had already been named Sound of 2017, since his songs have had heavier rotation than the rest of artists’ in the shortlist.

If you have the time, check out Ray BLK’s EP, especially her song “My Hood” feat. Stormzy.

I hope Anderson.Paak gets the recognition (and the BNA Grammy too!) he deserves.
