I feel like this was already posted, but I couldn’t find it. In any event, what are the main soundtracks in contention for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media?

Is the Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom soundtrack eligible as well?

Whew I think the Shang Chi soundtrack is as good as Black Panther’s, hopefully it gets a nom. Some contenders could be from the musicals West Side Story, Encanto, In The Heights. Maybe House of Gucci or Don’t Look Up if they have one

Judas and the Black Messiah (Warner Bros.)
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (Disney)
    Cruella (Disney)
    Respect (MGM)
    In the Heights (Warner Bros.)

Alts. Coming 2 America (Amazon), Promising Young Woman (Focus), Space Jam: A New Legacy (Warner Bros.), The Crown (Netflix), Ted Lasso (Apple TV)

I will do anything for a Barb and Star nomination though.

Have a great day if you see this!

FYC: EEAAO, Severance, Bad Sisters, Avatar: The Way of Water

Is Judas & The Black Messiah actually eligible though? I thought it was a Black Panther-type of album, inspired by the movie rather than being a soundtrack.

Same with Shang Chi as well. As far as I remember, only the H.E.R and Paak songs are the only songs on the soundtracks even played in their films.

    I would personally nominate:

Mariah Carey – Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special (Apple TV+)

    Jennifer Hudson – Respect (MGM)

Andra Day – The United States vs. Billie Holiday (Hulu)

Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Leslie Grace, Melissa Barrera (and Various Artists) – In the Heights (Warner Bros)

Various Artists – Judas and the Black Messiah: The Inspired Album (Warner Bros)

    Next in line:

Olivia Rodrigo & Joshua Bassett (and Various Artists) – High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (Original Soundtrack/Season 2) (Disney+)

Now that Bo Burnham will be competing in Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media instead of Best Comedy Album, do yall think he will win if nominated? He was 100% bound to win comedy album but since he was moved I am no longer sure what his chances to win are

Interesting, Jojo was the first time in nearly a decade Soundtrack went to a film/show that was specifically music based since Midnight in Paris in 2013 (partially why I was predicting Eurovision to win last year). If Inside gets nominated, just based on recent history, it has a very good chance at the win.

2014 – Sound City: Reel to Reel
    2015 – Frozen (musical)
    2016 – Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me
    2017 – Miles Ahead
    2018 – La La Land
    2019 – The Greatest Showman
    2020 – A Star Is Born
