i wonder who will be the winner. Bonobo or Kraftwerk seems most likely as most respected veterans…

Kraftwerk are literally some of the most influent artists in the history of music. While Bonobo’s last album was simply underwhelming. But I don’t think voters care about respectability or history…

Mura Masa seems like an easy pick, but the fact that Bonobo and Odesza got 2 nominations makes me believe one of them will win. It’s always a double nominee.

Honey, these nominees are weak as fuck.

    SHOULD WIN: Don’t care
WILL WIN: Mura Masa, Mura Masa

It’s funny that the first time LCD Soundsystem switches to Alternative, they probably would’ve easily taken this category. Oh well, Mura Masa by default I guess?

These nominated albums are sleep inducing with rare moments of feeling like I wanted to dance. RuPaul should interrupt the reading of these nominees and say that they are all up for elimination.

Not all electronic music is made for dancing. In fact, inly a small part is. The category isn’t “Dance Album”, but “Dance/Electronic Album”. All electronic music should be welcome here.

    I’m conflicted on this.

Bonobo and ODESZA had two nominations in the Dance field, and usually the winner here also has a nom in Dance Recording.

But at the same time…Mura Masa really outshines in terms of popularity and critical success. His album was well received and new comers are always welcomed.

Then again…Kraftwerk are veterans, and the album is also nominated to Best Surround Sound Album. That doesn’t mean that it’s going to win but it boosts it chances.

And Sylvan Esso, though unlikely to win, have the most critically acclaimed album.

SHOULD WIN: Mura Masa by Mura Masa
    WILL WIN: Migration by Bonobo

    Worth noting:

All winners since 2013’s Bangarang have reached #1 on the Dance/Electronic Album Chart in the US. The only nominees this year that has done this are Bonobo and ODESZA.

after listening to all the albums nominated here (oh, it was a long ride thanks to Kraftwerk), i must say Kraftwerk’s album seems to be the definition of “dance/electronic” here, but they already got their Lifetime Achievement award so i doubt they will get it for this live album.
Mura Masa seems so be the best album among the others left in contention, so i’m going with them.

also, i have no idea why Sylvan Esso ended up here rather than Alternative Album.
