I’ve noticed in the threads of recent that the Grammy snubs are really popular. But I would want to appreciate the times the Recording Academy really got it right.

Mentions in this thread could be more obvious/popular choices that really sat well with you or they could be obscure choices that you’re glad received Grammy recognition.

One of my personal favorites is Snarky Puppy’s collaboration with Lalah Hathaway, “Something,” winning Best R&B Performance in 2014. This was one moment I screamed a fat “yes” to.

I also liked Brandi Carlile receiving General Field nominations in 2019.

Banning Ed from the general field was a snub and also the best decision they made this decade at the same time.

Bro, snubbing A Star Is Born in AOTY was the best decision ever.

Golden Hour and Jagged Little Pill AOTY winners

    ASIB out of AOTY

    Born This Way 0 wins

    ARTPOP 0 nominations

Havana losing Pop Solo (it shouldn’t have been nominated, but I’ll take it anyway)

Divide out of AOTY, Shape of You out of ROTY and SOTY (too bad those snubs caused the tragic Bruno Mars sweep, the worst decision ever)

Justin Timberlake being shut out of the General Field in 2014 (it’s what he deserves)

If you wanna go there. Best decision is giving Gaga already 2 more Grammy’s than Madonna, soon to be 3.

And she still doesn’t have a timeless project or a piece of work more acclaimed than Like A Prayer(or any relevant Madonna album tbh), which has 0 Grammy wins.

The only way Lady Gaga can get any acclaim is doing something basic and conservative like the ASIB soundtrack or jazz albums. Good for her that she learned it before she fully faded into oblivion.
