Havana losing Pop Solo (it shouldn’t have been nominated, but I’ll take it anyway)
I don’t normally do this, but I disagree. I get you might have a bone to pick with the regular version, which I do too, but the live version undoubtedly was worthy of a nomination, in my opinion.
“Vision of Love” for Pop Solo, though it must’ve been pretty obvious at the time, was also a great choice.
“Love Has Come for You” and “A Feather’s Not a Bird” were also great choices in the American Roots Song category.
I love the fact that I’m with Her got recognition in both American Roots Song and Performance for “Call My Name.”January 1, 2020 at 5:37 pm #1203256176
The Best Music Video category often has pleasant surprises in the nominees, especially for videos that didn’t get any recognition at the VMAs. Some that I can think of right now:
* Arcade Fire, “We Exist” (2015)
* Depeche Mode, “Wrong” (2010)
* Coldplay, “Life in Technicolor II” (2010)
* Feist, “1234” (2008)
* Foster the People, “Houdini” (2013)
* OK Go, “All Is Not Lost” (2012)
* Pearl Jam, “Do the Evolution” (1999)
* Tove Lo, “Glad He’s Gone” (2020)
And then there are the ones that might’ve gotten nods at the VMAs but nothing major, like Sarah McLachlan’s “World on Fire” (2006) and Lucas’s “Lucas with the Lid Off” (1995), but then the list would get too extensive lol.January 1, 2020 at 6:30 pm #1203256214
“Shallow” NOT winning Record of the Year and Song of the Year was the best decision.January 1, 2020 at 8:11 pm #1203256257
Alison Krauss having more Grammy awards than any other female in music history is it for me. (smiles)
God bless you and her always!!!

I actually liked the Norah swept. Her album was really great. I just wished they spilt some winners.

Norman Fucking Rockwell getting a SOTY nomination was a most pleasant surprise.
I also loved that Tove Lo’s “Glad He’s Gone” got a BMV nomination.January 3, 2020 at 1:02 am #1203257590
Yo, Lady Gaga losing AOTY three times in a row was the best decision ever.
