6) PinkPantheressSidenote: I would really love for the Grammys to go back to 5 nominees (in all General Field categories).

Disney laughed at Nickelodeon for messing things up with Ariana Grande but now in just two years they could regret losing Olivia Rodrigo AND Coco Jones.
March 26, 2023 at 10:41 am #1205364367FLO would have more possibilities of winning than Coco Jones I think. Coco is so so r&b just like Muni Long. FLO could have support of pop voters. These girls are so talented and they are really loved by the industry. A lot of big artists want people to listen them. They are some kind of nostalgia of 2000s pop r&b hits and people just love it. They only need a good album and some song on general charts.
ReplyCopy URLMarch 26, 2023 at 11:26 am #1205364393coco jones is lowkey very similar to muni long career wise. both had flop music careers in the early 2010s and have found success doing other things (coco doing acting, muni writing) and are now having a career revival, the resemblance was just too uncanny to not point out lmao
ReplyCopy URLMarch 26, 2023 at 5:55 pm #1205364890Rema could easily get in as well. Calm Down just got in the top 10 of the hot 100 and will most likely keep rising next week. Calm down is for sure getting into pop/duo and possibly song and record.
ReplyCopy URLMarch 28, 2023 at 3:39 am #1205366872Flo just needs a small hit to get in. I really hope they gain traction this year.
ReplyCopy URLMarch 28, 2023 at 5:23 am #1205366927Flo and Raye have a similar thing going on, though Raye had bigger success in the US so far. I think Fly Girl could take off if it gets a social push. I think at most it will be like Escapism with a modest success here. I think Raye stands a better chance than Flo, but I feel Flo has the industry insiders on their side in the UK. Coco Jones’ success is looking very to Muni Long, where she might get an R&B win but I don’t see her breaking through big enough outside of the genre to win BNA.

is it even eligible? The solo was submitted to global performance and the remix came out in august before the new eligibility period.

Calm Down is ineligible I think. The same situation as Big Energy this year.
ReplyCopy URLMarch 28, 2023 at 8:11 pm #1205367559Honey, this year is weak as hell. Flo do NOT need a small hit to get a Best New Artist nomination. They’re a shoo-in at this point.

i can see him releasing a deluxe version of his album with the remix on it, which would then make it eligible
ReplyCopy URLMarch 29, 2023 at 9:06 am #1205368009As of right now, FLO will not be a thing at the Grammys. I’m confused why anyone would think they would be at this point.
They have not broken through in any way here in the U.S.
No hit single or album, no radio play, no streaming, no sales, no overwhelming critical acclaim. What am I missing?
