It´s Shallow vs Say Something definitely. You can also make a case for The Middle and Fall In Line. The rest is a huge NO.

    Should’ve Been Here: Weezer, “Africa”

    Didn’t that compete in Rock?

I thought that Weezer’s version of Africa would have been nominated in this category. I can’t remember if Africa was submitted in this category or not.

Shallow hands down is going to win. For a song that was submitted 3 days before the deadline, the song gained so much praise from critics alike and Gaga had been the most talked about artist since the song’s release and the release of A Star is Born. Plus, Shallow is nominated for ROTY and SOTY, so chances she might sweep the awards

I think everyone is forgetting just how much the Grammy’s LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Tony Bennett. I think “Shallow” should win, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Tony Bennett and Diana Krall ended up taking it.

I feel like Gaga will win here, but the Middle could sneak up and take the prize. Although Gaga’s song is much more better lyricly and production-wise.

Yeah that’s so stupid. Hunger is one of the best songs of the year.

“Hunger” is shitty.  Glad it was snubbed.

Nothing shocking about Tony Bennett getting in because Bennett is loved by the Grammys and has been getting nominated in the Pop Duo/Group, Pop Collaboration and Traditional Pop categories quite a bit since the mid 90s.

Aguilera gets nominated in the Pop Duo/Group and Pop Collaboration quite a bit as well.

your explanation is quite silly because thinking this way Bennett should’ve been nominated every year he put the album out. it’s shocking then his collaboration with Gaga didn’t score any nom, while the track with Krall that didn’t garner any attention – did.

Not really silly. Of course, not every single by Tony Bennett will get a Grammy nomination, but his run in the pop field is pretty impressive. He’s similar to Kelly Clarkson, where they’re almost guaranteed nominations in the pop field.

Let’s take a look at Tony Bennett’s run within the Pop Duo/Group/Collaboration categories.

    Best Pop Collaboration w/Vocals:
Tony Bennett and k.d. lang – “Moonglow”
Tony Bennett and Billie Holiday – “God Bless the Child”
Tony Bennett and Billy Joel – “New York State of Mind”
Tony Bennett and k.d. lang – “What a Wonderful World”
Tony Bennett and k.d. lang – “La Vie en rose”
Tony Bennett and Stevie Wonder – “For Once in My Life”
Tony Bennett and Christina Aguilera – “Steppin’ Out”

    Best Pop Duo/Group Performance:
Tony Bennett and Amy Winehouse – “Body and Soul”
Tony Bennett and Diana Krall – “‘S Wonderful”

That’s nine nominations (and two wins) between the two categories. So, while I am shocked that “‘S Wonderful” is nominated here, there are precedents of Tony Bennett being nominated.

As for his collaboration with Gaga not being nominated, I chalk that up as being the year where Gaga was going through the motions commercially and critically. Not only that, the nominees that year were extremely commercial.
